Man - Collectables / Cd's v Albums
« Last post by piflonkyd on August 19, 2021, 03:36:22 PM »
I have a collection of Man cd's which I think are missing the following-
1984-Live @ Cross Keys Institute
1976-Live @ Keystone Berkeley
2004-Live @ Hebdon Bridge
Anachronism Tango

Can anyone advise if the following are available on cd or only vinyl as missing these also-
Hystoria De La Musica Pop Inglesa Vol 11
1973 Golden Hour of Man

Just got a box version of The Twang Dynasty which includes Live @ Glastonbury 1994(which was unaware of) to go with standard cd version

I would prefer the actual cd but to be fair the flac files would be really my best bet but I do appreciate it. Would the files be sent through we transfer?

I wasn't familiar with Bandcamp before.I have had a quick look.Over the years,I have bought a fair bit of Man product, first on vinyl then years later CDs.Like most people now, when I listen to music I go straight to Youtube and I find anything I want.Very occasionally a song will have been removed by a record company, but that's rare.Next time I see Man live if I like the new stuff, then I will buy the CD.Agreed,Bandcamp sounds like a good idea with the band making money and apparently,Bandcamp take only 15%.That said, when I want to listen to Man 1998 Starclub for instance I am not going to fork out when I have the CD sitting in a cupbboard upstairs.
Future generations, well you never know.A few years back Something is Happening got picked up and reused somewhere--our kind of music could make a big come bakc
Man - General Discussion / Man... on Bandcamp

Hi all, I'm just a long time fan of the band, making my first tentative steps onto the forum.

I was wondering (now out loud) if, as a legacy, the entire Man back catalogue could be made available via Bandcamp. It would, at least, be available for future generations (one would hope). But I guess that record companies and large corporates such as Spotify might get in the way, as I assume they will own the copyrights, etc. and demand their pound of flesh.

Just imagine, one click in the archive and almost instant playback of that tune...

I'd be happy to let you have FLAC files of this album if you want, but I suspect you're looking to have the physical product.

Let me know.

Maybe these have been mentioned here before, if so, I didn't notice. Apologies if this is 'old news'.

Five Points of Light, Nov 2019, Limited LP on Sugarbush Records, streaming on Bandcamp at The Bandcamp page has a link at the top a CD from Reckless Records but the link doesn't go where you'd expect. Reckless Records seem to be just a secondhand store.

Man - General Discussion / Deke Leonard Bullseye telecaster Replica
« Last post by Newyorkmanfan on August 03, 2021, 05:42:26 PM »
Hi there! At the moment for a summer project, I am building a replica of Deke Leonard's Bullseye Telecaster that was originally a Fender custom telecaster. I bought most of the parts and have bought a DIY kit telecaster to start the project. (gonna have to buy a new neck since it appears dekes guitar was maple) Since I'm gonna cut the holes into the body I was wondering about how Deke cut the holes and what paints he used to paint the body. I know there was a period where he didn't have any paint stripes in the early 70s and he had a late 60s Stratocaster neck on it but put on a new telecaster neck or had the old neck refretted. Also, photos of deke and the guitar from the front and the back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello! At the moment I am trying to collect all of the man band discography on cd and I have only 8-9 releases I need to get in order to complete most of the material with Micky Jones and Deke Leonard (minus compilation albums). However, there was a live album called
Man Live At Crosskeys Institute 25th May 1984 and this was a gig from the 1980s which was released on Micky jones's website to fund studio time for a brand new album in 2005 and I can't seem to find a copy for sale on eBay or Discogs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think Ginger Baker's drumming on the Hyde Park version of that song is superb.
