I am sure that I would have found the Bulletin Board via a link on Tim's site. I had forgotten about Jules's partial heresy regarding a Deke-less Manband ! Although Back into the Future was the first Man album that I heard and it is pretty fantastic.

Hello to everybody.
This is my first adventure into the land of messaging, so please be gentle. It was not until quite recently that I discovered the legend that are MAN. In that short time I have managed to collect most of the back catalogue and have managed one gig, Blackpool Feb 2001. Fan f***in tastic. Devastated at having to miss RAH.

I am absolutely astounded at the level of information on the various websites run by what can only be described as life long enthusiasts of the Manband. Jules, do you ever get to see your family, you must put such a lot of time into your site - Awesome.

Doing a search for manband turned up some interesting results, the strangest being a site for "Magnetic sexual aid alternatives for relief of impotency", (requests for the URL will be treated in the strictest confidence).

Anyway, nice to be a part of the Manband family.

Niall

Niall, well you certainly hit on a great gig to start with. The Blackpool show was a cracker, and even more welcome being in the wild, wastelands north of Watford.

Hopefully, if we keep badgering them long enough, we'll get an Autumn tour that takes in some northern dates too.

There are already rumours of another attempt to raise funds for Bolette, perhaps later this year and perhaps in the greater Manchester area. I have no details at all.

Congratulation on the new board Jules.  I can now communicate again (although only from the office).
Good to meet up with (most) all of you again on Sunday.  What a storming set!!!
Was anyone more pissed than Rob Davies?

I reckon we all owe Jules a vote of thanks for, almost overnight (and including the weekend of a landmark Man gig), engineering both a new bulletin board and mailing list. The Evil Webmaster's devotion to the cause never ceases to amaze! Good on you Jules!

Jules,

Thanks for putting this MB together. After two weeks I still hadn't managed to work out how to post on the new iMusic one!

I agree with the concensus that the boys played a terrific set on Sunday,lovely see them on a big stage again,but does anybody know;
A. What those pop groups were doing there?Another half an hour of Man would have done for me.
B. Why did so many of the promised artistes no show?
C. How many people actually turned up?I found it impossible to judge the numbers in such a huge space. It didn't look a big crowd but it nace quite a good noise!
D.Most importantly did the gig make a profit for the appeal?

Nice one Jules, this looks good and is user friendly. To those of you I spoke to on Sunday, sorry if I wasn't making much sense. A combination of Special Brew, 1664 and Strongbow seemed to cause some miscommunication between my brain and lower parts of my anatomy, particularly my legs and my mouth. Great to see you all though. Man - how do they still improve and surpise with every gig ? Sheer f*****g genius that's how.

Rob.  No hangover, but a little tired!  How could anyone feel ill after such a stunning set?
By the way is Alan claiming the Rob Davies Award?

Of course a suitable Rob Davies Award trophy would have to feature a man sitting on a fence. Or possibly just chundering over one.

Polls.

Good idea, I like them.

I have the basic code to support polls already in shape, and I can set up a single poll easily enough.

However, I'd like to allow everyone to set up their own polls (the Artist Direct board is a nice implementation of this principle), as that will be far more fun.

I have a bit more work to do before it becomes a reality, so I shall experiment further this weekend.
