Paul, that's not far off some ideas that were being discussed for a Welsh Convention in 1999/2000. It didn't happen mind, but surely the time is ripe for another Convention?
One of the tentative plans was to take a weekend option on the Kings Hotel in Newport, and have a series of Man related concerts and showcases running through the weekend.
There was also talk of running several workshops, question and answer sessions, individual masterclasses. All this would be supported by side-stalls, covering merchandise, memorabilia, book signings, album signings, the works. You know, like a proper convention.
Another option was for Man to assume total control of Swansea for a weekend, running gigs at various venues around the town. There are plenty to choose from.
There could be room for hosting a "Manfan's Tour Of Swansea", taking in all the legendary local sights such as The Tenby, The Patti Pavillion, The Pant Y Gwyder, The Railmen's, The Langland Bay and so on. All fuelled by copious quantities of an appropriate local beverage of course.
