'Crintabulated' CD Now Available
« on: August 20, 2010, 03:00:07 PM »
Just to let you know 'Crintabulated - The Unofficial Man Mash-Up Collection and Tribute to Micky Jones' is now available from my other site, specifically here: http://www.nicknation.co.uk/crintabulated_12.html and two tracks on my myspace player here: http://www.myspace.com/nicknationsounds

It's free and for friends only, but a donation facility is provided (£5 plus has been suggested) which will go to Micky's causes - although I will take off postage. Anyway...what price can you put on a labour of love? It will also give you +1 on Jules's new Karma Scale.

The CD itself is 45 minutes and features 32 songs mashed over 14 tracks. Can you spot 'em all? It has been done with absolute reverence, but I am fully aware that the concepts of 'Man' and 'Mash Up' don't immediately go hand in hand. You should be used to that sort of thing by now. It's also great that board members have been involved, either with the additional words or cover pics or gizmos. Thanks to all, I will elaborate but now I think I need to Sleeeeeeep......
Nationsounds - the label that brought you Shake The Nation and raised £1,500 in memory of Micky...

Thanks for the early orders (you know who you all are  :-*) which went in the post earlier today. Have I mentioned that our Post Office collects on Saturdays? (groan, but on careful reflection we'll let him off this time)

A couple of queries have arisen. First, as it can only be given to friends, what qualifies as a friend? Well you lot do, clearly. Anyone else? Well - make a donation and you'll see just how friendly I can be. Next.

Second is whether I will take any to the gigs, saving postage etc. I'd love to be there, but I won't. The CDs will be available from my site linked above until the end of October at which point the site subscription expires and will be taken off. I'll then give whatever has been raised to George.

So give me your dosh and make me go to the post office.

Well you haven't answered my proposal of marriage, and I can see why. You only want us for our money.. pah!

Cannot wait for the CD. Must have it (pretty please) by Sept 3rd to accompany me 'n' the Bannon.

 ;D

You should have it by then, it was amongst those that went in the post yesterday. Let me know!

I keep remembering other things I should mention - for example a big thank you to David Miller (Brit Rock by the Bay) for the main Micky photo,  Norman Hobbs (Micky playing a Gibson Melody Maker! Cripes!) and our own Tim W and Mark Davies for the others - both of whom have Man related sites so have a look at them right now why don't you.    8)

I've had some more acupuncture. Coincidentally, I've lost another kg since last time. This was followed by having some stitches removed. The funny thing was that where they'd been tied off, it looked as if I had two small antenna sticking out. With careful positioning, I could pick up Sky Sports. (Live Tonight! Bescot Reserves versus Dagenham Girl Pipers!) I also went to the Post Office with the next bunch of 'Crintabulated' orders - thanks to those.

Brand Name. Important. Try typing in 'Unfinished Dinphonies' into Google or Bing and you'll see why. Didn't work so well with 'HMS Dinafore' as it would assume you were looking for some earlier perhaps inferior product with a smilar name. As if!

However - try searching 'Crintabulated' on Bing Images and it really is rather impressive.....heh heh! It measures 'Seven By Seven'.

Well, I'm being Crintabulated as I type this. Should be working, I know, but an extended lunch is in order I feel. Thank you Mr Nation.

And thank you for spelling 'Woolfe' correctly. Few think about the extra 'o'.  Looked like an afterthought, mind, but hey, it as there, and that's all that matters.

And Pete T, 4th time on an album. Well I'm on Deke's, so 4-1 to you. Considering your comments re GTFM t'other night, looks like you won on aggregate.

Mind you, I very nearly had a credit on a VDGG video, but the thing was pulled at the last minute... b*gg*r.

Pritchard Towers has also been crintabulated.

All activity was suspended while the assembled staff gathered round the PT sound system for the inaugural spinning of the Crintabulated platter.  The tension was palpable - would the 'purists' rebel against the mashing of their sacred Manband?  Would Nicholas O'Nation win them over with his wit, wisdom, and mastery of technology?

The disc was loaded, and 'play' was dutifully pressed by Prof. Iowerth himself.  The first sounds dribbled through into the mighty speakers... and... then... a few smiles began to form.  They spread around the gathered throng,  by the end of the track the place was awash with good vibes - yes, the double N had triumphed.  The tracks came and went, the grins got bigger, there was even a few tears shed by some of the more sensitive souls.  By the time it was all over the whole household agreed that there was only was thing to be done - put it on again!

Yes, Nick's deep love and understanding of Micky and the Manband comes shining, as does his playful sense of humour.  To achieve something to this level of professionalism without access to the actual multi-tracks is frankly astonishing.

If you've been wavering about getting a copy, waver no more.. get it... NOW!

I'll go along with all of that, but did you have to trek up to the North Pole or wherever he lives to borrow that Tuck fella's stereo system?

Thanks chaps.

34 you say..

Think it's 32 different songs...but some songs have 3 or 4 samples each.

Altrincham..........

No, they fit fine.
