Mark Powell of Esoteric interview online
« on: July 20, 2008, 02:43:46 PM »
There's a very interesting 30-minute video interview with Mark Powell of Esoteric Recordings on the Esoteric homepage at http://www.cherryred.co.uk/esoteric/.

He talks about his taste in music, his early career in recording, the switch to working with catalogues, and then Esoteric. There is a small mention of Man as he talks about the packaging of the 'Be Good...' re-issue.

Also available, along with interviews discussing labels such as Cherry Red, Dandelion, Jungle, RPM and many others, via the Cherry Red TV Interviews section at http://www.cherryred.co.uk/other/cherryredtv/interviews.htm

Just watched the interview.  THANK YOU Mark Powell for the love and care you've brought to the Man reissues.  Each one is way beyond expectation especially in this day and age, my personal favorite being the Back Into the Future package... a triple-CD mini box set, INCREDIBLE!

I've just watched this too, I hope everyone's e-mailed him asking for Alkatraz's "Doing a moonlight"  :)

Allan - I quite agree. I just hope that each successive generation who buys the old Island samplers doesn't waste hundreds of pounds as I did on vinyls of Quintessence, Dr Stangely Strange and Tramline.

Now I must go and turn over that copy of The Clouds' "Scrapbook".....

Hudson Ford CDs would be nice.
As would the 2nd LP by "Tea and Symphony".

Not "Joe Sago" or whatever it was called? That was a funny LP!
