We now turn our attention to the wind - it's just not draughty enough. Difficult to achieve on tape (or whatever it is these days....)

Shurly you are not asking contributers to this board for suggestions about making wind noises...

And don't call me Shurly...  RIP.

Don't know about any of the other mugs involved, but my track is done, 'cept for the mix. Once again, we didn't play fair. Brought in a ringer to do the solos. Deniz Tek was chuffed to be asked. After watching God Walks Past.... he had a bit more understanding and respect for the boys. And doing a song none of you have ever heard gives us an advantage   ;)

Who do I send this to? Should have it wrapped up in a couple of days. Got sidetracked working on the new Brain album. Is there really 18 songs in the works? That's what the list sez. Some of you guys had better buy copies of the last one, so we can do the deluxe vinyl+CD package I have in mind... haha

Also looking for a suitable title - any suggestions?

Yes - how about Lord Pritchard? Admiral Pritchard? Either would be good.

Wow! We look forward to hearing that, Ron.

Does that mean you are playing a 'ringer' ?   That's cheating   ;D

My wolves sound like dogs slowed down.

Alfredo's gonna take it home and tweak it

Wasn't that Donna Summer?

[/quote]  i don't know exactly what you mean by that."tweak" in this context means adjusting the levels or other things that engineers and producers do, like removing and adding things, fading things in and out, changing the way an instrument sounds, picking what sounds to use et al .but everything is played or sang by me on this track, in tribute to Micky :)...actually we are gonna "tweak" i.e. "mix" the music together tonight after we are done over dubbing.Alfredo will not be "tweaking" alone.with modern technology if you play a bad note you can erase it.that would be a form of "tweaking" in this situation for example.anyhow we are working on the interlude section right now;Alfredo stepped out.our friend Cristin is coming over to hang,it's gonna snow big tomorrow.we have hours in front of us to finish this.it'll be ready to send over tomorrow if not sooner.i've figured out some chord changes for the first middle interlude.we gotta do some percussion, pick from multiple takes of the same instruments, maybe put down some more keys, and mix it then we'll be done.we are having a great evening and it's getting better...i hope will you like the finished result-cheers-Davey

Sorry, davey. It got lost in translation. Just a poor play on the word "tweak". You know, 'tweak' to 'Tweke'. So your band is playing with Tweke.....

And a 'ringer' is where let's say an amateur band enters a competition, and within the band they sneak in a professional. That professional is called a 'ringer'.

So, Tweke is a ringer, and that is cheating.

Simple.......ish

A final call for contributions to the tribute album - the closing date is next Saturday (22nd).

There are a wide ranging variety of tracks already submitted, and the album is shaping up to be a fine tribute to Micky.

I hear on the grapevine that Nick Nation is still working on his contribution, but is running out of tracks for his epic production - how many is it up to now Nick?  Don't forget 'Sgt. Pepper' was recorded on 4-track and that sounded half decent...

It was 70, Mr P - but I've now got that down to 67. Obviously it is likely to increase....perhaps a sweepstake could be arranged?

...so if they'd done it on 8-track it would have been decent.

..surely if it is decent, it must be a downhill-track..
..if it was done on a caterpillar-track it would sound moth-eared..

Gosh yes. I did try off-the-beaten-track, but I got hopelessly lost.
