Hi Ron,
Very sorry to hear your news. Of course I don't know you, but my perception of you is that youll have no problems at all.
Frankly, sometimes there can be a benefit in receiving a redundancy payout, getting straight back into work, so cn have a chill out and a bit of dosh.
Interestingyour points about working for others. I was made redundant about 6 week ago. Previous to that, I did have my own business, was brought out in 2006 and headed up a department. Enjoyed it but always missed my own business. Then my department was inexplicably closed down 6 weeks ago. I was devastated, but a blessing in disguise. Although less than the minimum 2 years, I was given some redundancy and a modest compensation package, so I've set up a business again, and it's amazing.
I'll miss your programme. I often listen whenever I can.

Good luck Ron. You seem well clued up so I hope you find something that scratches your itch and rewards you too.
I've just found out I didn't get the job I was interviewed for last Friday... back to the hunt.  :P

Ron, sorry to read that. Was it the job with the radio station? Then - ha! - tell them in the words of Pugwash in Ammanford: "Die, fuckdog(s), die!!!"

No, the radio is volunteer, no money involved. Phil Charles is the boss, and I bring a lot of stuff for the library. I think I'm safe there.

It was a day job. I was writing content for an internet store. check out www.comfortchannel.com while they are still in business. As they downsized, they kept giving me other people's jobs. Fair enough, the other people didn't do them very well... which of course led to the problems that caused the collapse. I had an "exit interview", which gave me the chance to spell out some of the problems for the owner, and the #2 guy. They wondered how I has sussed it out, and asked if I'd be the operations manager. Too bad there is no operation left to manage!

I'm sure I'll be back to work before long. Right now, I'm getting my guitar chops up to date, and have been doing some singing. Finally got a chance to play the Gibson SG, being discussed elsewhere on this forum. Sounds sweet, and plays like a dream.

Not quite sure why the first file was a .zip file and the remainder as .rar files - must have done something differently although I can't recall what that was.

For information, the .rar files are created within WinRar and having just checked it in my office I can confirm that they can be unpacked using WinZip.

Having now negotiated this I might well be up for putting something new on every couple of weeks - my trading list is available at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/allanheron/Index.html if anyone has any specific requests.

What zipping software is it that you have?   The .rar. files were created with WinRAR but do open in WinZip (as I've tested on my office laptop).  There is zipping capability within XP/Vista which may or may not be compatible with .rar files

(Edited to add - apologies but I've probably misread your post.  I've checked the links this morning and they all seem to be ok from here, so you should be able to download the files.)

Me again, just wondering.....I've downloaded the files, and can play them individually, but I wonder, is there a way they can be merged so that in effect the whole concert is played continuously. Or can they only be played individually?
Thanks....

You could burn them onto a disc with no gaps between the tracks,  or perhaps create a playlist via WMA or equivalent????  Or use Sound Recorder to add the tracks to one another to give you one mega wav files but you wouldn't be able to easily skip between tracks.

If I remember correctly, the tracks aren't continuous anway which is a pity but it's how I got it
