Iceberg at Boom Boom Club

Well, as no-one seems to be speaking up, let me be the first to say that Iceberg proved the doubters wrong last night!

Anyone who misses the Walthamstow gig will really be missing out. It's good to see the average age of the band plummet by half a century, and 'Jimmy' certainly held his own, egged on by a hefty crowd.

I know I'm biased, but fabulous stuff...  ;D

PS Pictures and vid on the Facebook page when Mrs H recovers!

Great.  I'm not one of those who may want the band to fail and am glad when it comes off.

Did he play kangaroo ;)

Jumping like a kangaroo is not recommended in the Boom Boom club as the ceiling is only about 3 inches above your head when on stage

Certainly no Kangaroos, but some (age restricted) jumping around.

James Beck was (is) well worth pay and rations - particularly as this was annonced to be his first gig with a band whose main credo is 'no rehersals.'  His style was towards the rock side of the spectrum (and because of that I'd like to hear him play alongside George - maybe at Christmas?).  I had seem him before with Ringolevio and with MAM at the 100 Club and had no doubts as to his capabilities.

No great surprises in the set list - but I wasn't expecting any - so I won't attempt to recall it but it was a fine selection from the Leonard cannon.

Perhaps the best thing I can say is that I am now giving serious consideration to making the trek round the North Circular to see them again in Walthamstow.

Good to see some of the familiar faces, and the Heatleys cooing in the corner.  Pete:  I hope you got home without too much trouble.

A couple of good you tube vids, and I thought James Beck seemed well at ease. I actually wondered if they had any rehearsals.

Now, I wonder what our Mike meant about those who want the band to fail. May have to bribe him with a few pints. What you doing in a couple of weeks, mate?   ;D
