Nick,

Think my list above fits this criteria quite well.
I shouldn't be annoyed that others can find pleasure in listening to the current Man farce..
I shouldn't be annoyed that tribute bands can make a living (and damn good one) sponging of off the creativity of others..

Yes Pete, on re-reading I take yout point. It just goes to show what italics can do. Leaning forward in an angular fashion, conveying that all-important note of urgency combined with a sense of efficiency bordering on the streamlined thereby putting a different emphasis on whatever it was that was orginally being said. Well hurrah!
Nationsounds - the label that brought you Shake The Nation and raised £1,500 in memory of Micky...

Today - b*stards who think they can go past you when queueing at a petrol station.

Recently - the distressing trend on the radio for practically every presenter to start a sentence with "Listen!".
Drives me mad, it is so rude.

Spooky, not that long ago, I was saying similar about how MP's have recently begun their sentences with "Look".

At least on the radio, technically they are correct!

PS... Is nobody going to answer my question aout Bob R on Barnsley tomorrow night? Thought I'd tag it on here. Don't want to answer my own post. Makes out I've no mates and have to talk to myself    ::)   ;D   :o

Hadn't noticed the "look" creeping in.  But getting mighty annoyed by the meaninless addition of "going forward" to sentences blurted out by politicians, experts managers, and any other idiot who picks it up.  >:(

... otherwise apparently intelligent people who use the non-existant word NUCULAR instead of the perfectly useable NUCLEAR ... it should not annoy me but I end up throwing shoes at the TV ...

Nuclear is unclear.
Do you still throw your shoe at the telly if you hear it on the radio?

Here's a test.
NUCULAR.

You should have put the boot in the PC now..!

It will have to be a socked foot this time, my muddy shoes are out by the front door... actually my PC beat me at chess last week but it was no match for me at kick boxing!

...when somebody screws up a saying who is not "hip" and it gets into the general pantheon and you're hearing it on newscasts, in articles, reading it in books.here's two examples.when i grew up ,when you made a mistake you said(if you were hip) "my bag" not "my bad" as people do today. as in "what's your bag?" "my bag is music"...can't stand it when i hear "my bad". and this second one...i need to take a deep breath...ok, it's "deep SEEDED" as in a seed deep within the ground that you can't get to and change what's growing out of it.not "deep seated"  ffs(thanks for that saying) what the hell is a deep seat??? "i'm sorry sir,it was a really deep seated problem. i mean that seat was REALLY deep".what, it was meaningful? i mean we even have the saying "deeply rooted problem". that's where it comes from.how am i to trust a news article that can't get that straight.i'm seeing "deep seated" all over the place...maybe i'm wrong here...but i don't think so...i guess this stuff shouldn't bother me, oh but how it does...cheers-Davey

The use of 'uhhhh' instead of 'pardon'.

Well I'm annoyed, in that I still don't know whether to take a drive over the pennines into that Barnsley. Even a phone call to my man in Wales hasn't born fruit. Maybe I shouldn't be annoyed.......but I am.

For that reason, I think I'll remain one of those anonymous users     ;D

When people refer to the end of work time as "the end of play".

Sort of implies I'm enjoying myself.

In fact most sporting terms used in a non sporting setting tend to wind me up, for no apparent reason.

Yes! And how about the completion of the West Coast Main Line Route Modernisation Project? It was (cringe) 'unpacked'.

Oh dear... whenever there's a meeting at work, or going somewhere socially, I never ask 'when does it start'  or similar. I always ask "when does it kick off". That's another smite I presume.

And thinking about it, still with Tel, I get annoyed by, and probably shouldn't be, when people want to know what job you do, they ask 'what game are you in?'. Always remember a particularly nasty bloke asking me that. I said "I'm not in a game, I take it seriously"
