"There is a theory that says, almost 60 years since the birth of rock 'n' roll, all the great guitar riffs have been played to death."
and
"I think the next big thing that will come along will be like an Oasis," Lamacq concludes. "It will sound like something you've heard before."

We're already well past that point
It's Just My View

Information is not knowledge
Knowledge is not wisdom
Wisdom is not truth
Truth is not beauty
Beauty is not love
Love is not music
Music is THE BEST........

This is all very interesting, but Mr Rover did suggest a 'heated debate'. This does not appear very heated to me.
Nationsounds - the label that brought you Shake The Nation and raised £1,500 in memory of Micky...

Not heated, but this may be the longest that a thread has stayed on topic for a while.

..so a heated debate is when you put the bait in your mouth to warm it up..
Is it the shock of hitting cold water that makes de-bait wriggle more?

(well and truely o/t now..)
Virgin places don't mean a thing to people who never bring their hearts along.

Jules - I am deeply concerned about the standard of smelling on this board. Also, the heated debate still seems to be lacking a certain something. As I prefer to take an organic approach, I was wondering if there is some sort of Garam Masala for Forums? It would be too easy (and a little repetitive) to come out with the usual stuff about you know who at you know where when you know what took place and you know who did you know what to you know whom, I would have thought.

What precisely is a debate?

Precisely a debate is a formal discussion in which opposing arguments are put forward. Imprecisely a debate is a surface layer of ice that is not frozen solid but has a slushy appearance. Discuss.

I prefer the javelin.

(And well and truly (no 'e' Tucky) off topic, Get in!)

And another thing. Can you have brackets inside brackets? Or should it be those square bracket things? Tucky, how dya spell parentheses?

On form today.

I don't believe you are really Stevie Nicks.  For one thing you look like a girl.
