Nice one Pete, concert last night with the school I drum for and the children had bought me a bottle of wine for helping them this year

Classic West Wales - old enough to walk & talk, old enough to buy booze.

shoulda said "via the headmistress" ;D

Welshgit - great to read about your daughter. Don't let her give up. My daughter suddenly dropped everything she was doing. Acting, singing, piano & guitar. Appeared on tv, loads of local productions etc. Difficult to know when a parent should interfere or not interfere. No win situation.  I didn't interfere ( not too much anyway ) but should have!  She regrets it.

My lad didn't give up his sport. Finally didn't make it as a pro, but coaches junior football teams most nights of the week, and recently approached by Barnsley FC to coach their academy keepers. Earns a packet whilst still a student, and more importantly, loves it.

Far be it from me to advise you, no way, but if I may say, take heed, if she does show signs of giving up (young kids and all that), maybe do interfere!!!

..if I quoted that, I'd say "ditto". Mine did violin to grade two and gave up, piano to grade 2 and gave up.. Rather than say "gave up", perhaps better to say "lost interest, felt he'd gone far enough..". Perhaps thats the exam system..?..

Taught himself to play drums after.. http://www.myspace.com/firegardensheffield/music/songs/the-circle-26618278

Found out that not only have we been invited to compete at the National Eisteddfod, but as there are no pre-lims  it's straight on the main stage for a televised performance!!!!!! :)

Better practice I guess then ;D

You wouldn't expect them to be thrown in at the shallow end would you? (Am I right in recalling that as a quote from Deke?)

That's what I meant. Think you'd better post day and time, which by incredible coincidence, is very nearly a song title on Slow Motion. I wonder how Youngy is these days.    :)
