George, not sure how relevant this is, if at all, to the sale, but e-bay shows the Patti album as being a 12" album.  Just wondering because my copy is 10".

If I recall correctly the release was delayed for a little while because of the unusual size of the album.  I remember buying it in Holts hi-fi on Portland Street, which is now, I think a card shop a door or two away from HSBC which used to be a pub called the Park.  I also remember buying BITF in Spearheads on Castle St, now a pizza shop near lazerdome and getting a 10% discount off the £3.10 RRP. Memoirs of a sad git who really needs to start getting out a bit more;)

I fail to see how you can have great memories and have been pissed! One or the other :o
..no, my first (non-pissed) memories were at Cheltenham Town Hall on the BITF tour.. 11-Oct-1973.. I was 15 1/4..

I wasn't there, but was only a week or so away from getting BGTYALOAD on recommendation.  We used to do that back then;  if someone who's opinion you valued / respected you'd buy an album purely on their say so.  Worked for me apart from  two or three clunkers.  The Faust Tapes anyone?

Pete, I have as it happens.  Very tight band that sound promising on both CD's I've heard.  One to keep an eye out for.  Have they got any stuff on YouTube?

Pete, I was trying to divert people away from any accustions of nepotism and you go and mention "The bare chested one is young Tuckmeister".  Ye, a covert operative shall not make!

Some 'Vai' bloke seems to be trying to muscle in on the action.  As a Man band member said on the Reading (?) liner notes, 'we haven't had the lawyers look over it, but we know some handy lads'.  If Vai seems to be a threat, maybe you could try and find out who said 'handy lads' are ;D

Faust tapes ? brilliant, I kid you not, the most succesfut cut and paste lp of all time and Faust's finest work, on a par with Tubular Bells, released same day. It has a balance and consistency not seen on Faust, So Far or IV.

As for other recommendations that really did work Martin Neep and Be Good to Yourself

A PS - one copy of a Ducks Deluxe Delight's recent gig in Leytonstone, audince recording.
