« on: September 10, 2008, 09:17:22 AM »
Just saw this on EBay. Deke gets a credit:

Used UK 7" on SPARTAN SP143 (1986)

GARY PICKFORD HOPKINS (ex Wild Turkey) & FRIENDS

   1. Why? (The Song)
   2. Why? (The Story)

Record is a little dusty, not too far from EXCELLENT condition]

Sleeve a little creased at top edge, VERY GOOD

'Friends' are: Terry Williams, Andy Fairweather-Low, Deke Leonard, Bob Jackson & Kevin Dunne

Oops. I guess that this should have been in the 'Man - Collectables' section.

I'm watching this just to see how much it goes for. It is also available (A and B sides) on the GPH cd released by Angel Air.

Sleeve notes say "The song Why was written by the late Roger Evans and featured the late Conrad Atkins narrating. It was recorded as a tribute to the late Peter Ham and Tommy Evans of Badfinger - friends of whom I still feel present. The recording featured friends of Peter and Tommy namely Terry Williams (drums and percussion), Deke leonard (guitar), Andy Fairweather Lowe (guitar), Bob Jackson (Piano and Keyboards), Kevin Dunn (Bass). It was recorded at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth in the mid 80's and was engineered by Dave Charles and produced by Mike Day"
