How many people are there in that 800 capacity venue Michael?

..at least two less than there would have been Gav. You and me..

It's only Rock n roll music Gav,you either like it or you don't.I live in the east of France, where Man have never toured.Would I go and see them of course.Would I go and see George and Bob if they played here.Definitely.
I know it is Cambell. I'm just amusing myself. Y'know rattle the cage and the monkeys come to life. And this lot never disapoint!  I'm just amazed they havent worked it out yet its been 3 years after all. I know if sounds bad but then they're playing a rather silly game too. And they do deserve it believe me they do.

Rattle the cage and watch em go...

chuffin' chuffin' chuffin' chuffin' like a kangaroo behind a popemobile
Cant get those catchy tunes outta my head.

How many novelty songs are being played tonight Michael? Or has Martin final realised what the rest of the world has known for years?

...I always thought the jumpin' muffin was protected...theres another great one.

Oh well I've given the game away, but I'm getting a bit bored with it all now any way.

Nos Da as they say in Shropshire.

Until the next European tour anyway.

Glowing, although ever so slightly biased, gig reviews to appear below shortly:

Well quite I would have gone but I was washing my newly cut hair tonight.

Do you ever get the feeling in a parallel universe a Jones-Leonard-Richards-Ryan-Ace line up are playing right now? Maybe we would have even tolerated a novelty song or too for that and the usual bum bass notes. Well we always did in the past didn't we? Or have I been watching too much Dr Who. Couldnt get my head around tonights episode couldnt tell whether he's dead or still alive at the end. And why cant he magically regenerate like Ace does with the Manband? Oh well at least Im not at Leamington tonight.

See you on 17th Dec, just booked my hotel. Think I may have to watch my back after the last few days!

Must try and drink less on Saturday nights Im rambling more than Lindsey Fooking Buckingham tonight.  Although not on the 17th obviously.

Gavin, I think it was Zep who said ' ramble on'.  Go for it and maybe I'll see you on the 17th which is also a Saturday and means you can have a drink.
Still unsure about out how to spell 'Barber'.  Local bloke calls himself 'Hair by David; hairdresser to gentlemen and their sons'.  Known locally as Dai the barber.

Anyone got any plans for a pre gig pint or is it straight to The Club?

Pete.
Red Lion.  less than 5 minutes walk to The Club.  Wetherspoons now, £2.10 a pint for real ale when I was there a week ago.

Ale will of course vary by the day,but Morriston isn't renowned for the quality of its pubs / clientele (very carefully chosen words there).  Red Lion has a good reputation.

We dont have any barbers in my town, just 2 lady hairdressers. So I definitely had my hair 'dressed' rather than 'barbered'. Did u know Micky was a barber before he was a Bystander? Hairdressing's loss was rock'n roll's gain I guess.

Pre-gig plans. Keep my head down and try to avoid all the forum members I've pissed off probably!

Gav,

I did know about Micky's 'secret past'  A mate of mine used to say that there were three genders, Male, Female and hairdresers.  As you say, Rock 'n' roll's gain...

I have no prob with you  (or anyone elses) opinions, but do you think it may be easier for the assasins if you put your photo in the thingy that goes along your your posts ?  Is it called an avatar?

Just in from the best Man gig we've been to for many many years.
Met half a dozen Cardiff lads who were blown away - and will be there on 17th. One of them saw a gig over 20 years ago.

To see the interaction between Deke and Martin rolled back the years.

Set list, The Price, Mad on Her, Speak, Steal, Pope, X ray, then Deke took to the stage and it really took off, Ride and the View, 7171551, Daughter C'mon, Many are called, Romain and an epic encore of spunk Rock.

Dragged em back for a second encore with the best Bananas I've heard since whenever.

Closing your eyes you wouldnt know which line up, which generation.

(thats if its OK to have my own biased opinion!)

If were going to make it easy for them I could just wear my Who t-shirt so they have a target to aim at:

Wow those first 6 songs would be part of everyones favourite Man setlist wouldnt they? Really wish I'd gone. "The Price" such a strong song to open a Man gig with one of my favourite Man songs ever. Cant believe I missed that. Followed by "Mad on Her", they really should have played that live more often over the years. Speak and Steal 2 classics from Mans best ever album KON followed by a couple of top notch MA novelty songs. Close your eyes and it could just be ...Ace, Ryan and the indie kids.

...we got stuck behind the man with x-ray eyes...

Deke, you legend, why on earth did you chose to join the circus, you're so much beter than that? Dear me, glad it was just for one night.

Michael, Jules, Tim lets have your unbiased, objective views now please:

It was worth the effort just for Deke and Martin playing Ride and the View, though obviously at the start of the gig I just stood wishing I was sniping on a message board whilst watching Doctor Who.

Funnily enough, my friend Deke doesnt take sides. Bob, another of my friends, was on the way to play a gig in Leicester. He said 'Give the boys my love'. And he wasn't being sarcastic.

If he, and George, can move on, then surely it's time everyone else did. And that's a bit of friendly advice.

PS If anyone wants my thoughts on the gig send me a message, as my initial post seemed to cause unexpected controversy.

Now youre not seriously suggesting those first 6 songs had a greater entertainment value than Dr Who are you? You cannot dis the Doctor he's been around longer than Man even. Several thousand years actually

And all those complaints about Sylvester McCoy being a novelty Dr as well ;-)
