A trowel, bag of cement, and a piggin' massive wall springs to mind.

It's not Roger Sodding Waters again, is it?
Nationsounds - the label that brought you Shake The Nation and raised £1,500 in memory of Micky...

you could lock it temporarily and have everyone vote on the stopping or continuing of the thread itself... yes giving people time to cool down or compose their thoughts...side note:when i said on the Badfinger forum(the only other forum i've joined; although not so active at present) i hoped as a fan that different sides could make up;they got pretty rough with me. so the moderator posted some words directly into the thread PLEASE FOLLOW CERTAIN RULES etc...the people who were posting disappeared after that...i guess i was glad i didn't really have to go to the mats because these people are really upset about some stuff and they were upset w/ me, thinking i was excusing any and all kind of wrongdoings and that i had a secret identity and they knew who i was working for etc,it was not gonna be easy;they wanted to get directly personal right away ...but this way i was able to drop the subject like a hot potato...if i have to make a point in the future over there it will be that some of the music and message(which i feel all really good music has whether it be in the words or in the music itself)is just too good for some of the endless unresolved hate with no healing in sight stuff.thats all...ok at this point im just gonna say: "thanks for listening" this is the best forum i know because it is intelligent and interesting, funny etc... and its a beautiful autumn afternoon in brooklyn-cheers

I bet I know who that "wise head" is.

A trowel, bag of cement, and a piggin' massive wall springs to mind.

Did I ever mention... ;)

Part of the problem for me is that the written word very often usually doesn't reflect the subtle inflections of speech and can often lead to misinterpretations of what was was written (said).  Mind, there were a few posts that you'd have had to be Stevie Wonder not to see what was being intimated.
Any 'anger' or whatever word suits, can often be defused in a face to face much better than on line; although having said that I am considering keeping my distance from anyone wearing a Who T-shirt on the 17th for my own personal safety.

PS, the peak for me was Be good - Max darkness with a tailing on/off for DYLIHAYSI and WC.

For what it's worth I thought the temporary locking was timely and effective. Having posted only two relatively short and (I thought) moderate comments in the discussion, I felt thoroughly beaten up by some of the responses I got. I know that some of my defensive reactions after that were inflammatory, and I apologise for that, but I was getting my head kicked in at the time.

I'm not sure how much the comments about what might or might not happen on Dec 17th are tongue in cheek. But I suspect maybe at least some of them, such as Jules' comment about wondering how welcome he would be, show some genuine concern.

As far as I'm concerned we have had a very heated discussion and even traded a few written insults. It may have got out of hand and thats not fantastic.
Forum rows are one thing but as far as I'm concerned (and Im sure the same applies to everyone else on here), there is no need for anyone to feel uncomfortable, intimidated, threatened (or whatever the appropriate word is) about attending any shows whether it be George's xmas show, Man or whatever.

I can only speak for myself but I wouldnt want anyone to feel that way because of anything I've said.

Dec 17th is George's gig and he's asked for it to be an evening of music and friendship and I for one will be respecting that.
No bullshit indeed!

End of lecture.
Thank you very much.
Love, peace and chilledoutness to all of you!
