New Archive suggestions
« on: October 16, 2011, 04:38:46 PM »
It was recently suggested that a means of capturing fan ratings for Man albums could be provided.

The banana ratings scale (0=crap to 10=perfect) is now available for each album in the discography, including releases from Manband Family and Friends.

This has been <ahem> "extensively" tested over the past few days minutes, so if you break it please drop me a line and let me know.

The banana rating is based on the rounded up average score, but for those interested in quantity as well as quality, the totals are also shown.
Boldly going.......

I've been to Safebury's, I've stared at the garden, I've tickled Eric under the chin, I've fixed something that wasn't broken originally but was once I started mucking about with it, and I've just had a fiddle with Jules's banana.

I came across a dilemna (sometimes dilemma) when an album has been re-issued in an expanded form - for example, for me the expanded 'BITF' would score much more than the original version - although the original version is the one reviewed. Similarly with Greasy Truckers, etc.

The 'KON' err, challenge was difficult as I couldn't see its avatar amongst the studio albums.

Couldn't see 'Crintabulated' or 'The Micky Jones Tribute Album' amongst Family and Friends.

Other than that - well done Jules!

Yes, good point, they need to be added.

Could use an independent review of the tribute album if anyone wishes to volunteer.

I'm unfamiliar with the word.  I know another similar word starting with 'F' which has one less '@%'.

Yours pedantically, just for a change!

Now added, you'll find these in the Family and Friends section (the pages are present, with detailed, biased and factually inaccurate reviews ( ;) ) yet to be written). The tribute albums (both latest and previous), are under Various Artists, and Crintabulated is a Nick Nation release. I've added several pages for releases (e.g. Quicksand, Richard Treece, Tweke Lewis) that haven't been covered in detail yet. As always, if you feel there are albums missing that should be included, please do let me know.

Good to see a few people have been adding ratings over the past couple of days. Yesterday I introduced a Discography Ratings page for a bit of fun. This is functional rather than beautiful at the moment, makeover to be applied once it's settled down a bit. Family and Friends releases aren't included yet, but will probably follow.
