60s and 70s drummer Keef Hartley died last week

It may have passed you by, but Keef Hartley, drummer with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes (after Ringo) and his own Keef Hartley Band (that played at the Woodstock festival) died in a Preston hospital on 26 November aged 67.

Sad news. I missed that, and I've just been writing about Rory Storm too. Cilla Black was on Buzzcocks last night, talking in passing of the early Merseybeat days. Never a fan of her music, but she was there, and she's still here.

RIP Mr Hartley. Had the pleasure of attending one of his bands gigs.

I have one in Black Watch tartan ... but every time I wear it out somewhere the rest of the family hide on the other side of the room and pretend they are not with me ....
