Tel, Sorry to hear the news.
We can be bastards and rip the shit out of each other, but we can also be very compasionate.

Condolences from Scourie..

Speak for yourself, tw*t     ;D

You see Tel, even this post can be veered ever so slightly off topic

And you know, not saying we can replace an obviously loved close family member, but something I've been speaking with to a few message boarders since the recent gig, we here are more than just faceless internet names. We really are a 'family'. We're with you, mate! :)
Not often I find myself agreeing with Rob W, buts his words are poignant and I too would like to offer my condolences to your and your family at this sad time.

Strange stuff.

I keep myself pretty much to myself and don't share much in the way of my history with many people including colleagues who I've known for 35 + years.  Put a group of them together and the full picture would emerge, but individually very few have anywhere near the whole story. Not that it'd'd be that interesting if they did - far better to be a bit of an enigma!
Found it a bit other worldy in the Red Lion the other week sharing information about my life / health / family with people who I only really knew through the ether of the Manboard and feeling ok with it apart from the occasional thought about 'where's this ventriloquist who's spouting my life story?  Even my great mate of 15+ years heard stuff about me that he didn't know.

Interesting to see / read how we react to the difficulties / losses of others who we 'know' because of the band, but could easily walk past each other on the street without any idea of who they are.

I know there have been differing views and some heated debates - NO! About what?  Surely the current line up is ... - but by and large I think there is a lot of respect for each other, despite the distance.

Tel,

Really sorry to hear your news and to feel it's impact on you through your words.  All being well, time will heal and, in similar spirit to Rob's message, I would quote the words of MJ "There's other people living who need you too. So...." You know the rest, but in your own time.

Wishing you the best and perhaps a re-run of the London meet-ups. (Did I recently see a re-emergence Mr Justice Davies elsewhere on this board?).
