Cardiff

I suspect that the rugby might have attracted more attention at the weekend, but I was absolutely gripped and enthralled at Cardiff's fine, fine effort at Wembley yesterday.

Fought Liverpool all the way, and when you thought they'd given everything and more still managed to take the game to penalties.

Was so disappointed they weren't able to win the shoot out

Quite surprised how complimentary many people have been about our performance. From where I was sitting, City caused them a few problems but we mainly rode our luck for 120 minutes. As usual though, our luck ran out in the end.

It looked to me as if Turner fouled Kuyt to get the late equaliser, but nevertheless a v good performance by our neighbours.

I think the  ball Charlie Adam kicked had some kind of homing device planted in it, and was programmed to find the ball which Chris Waddle used for his penalty miss those years ago, and is still probably in an orbit around Jupiter. Seemed to take the same trajectory.

Far be it for me to stick to the thread but I was knackered after the 2 big games went right down to the wire. My voice is still hoarse and the neighbourhood cats are giving the house a wide berth...
