1984 tour tee shirt
« on: April 14, 2012, 03:11:33 PM »
Pardon my ignorance on such matters (the moniker 'rockprof' refers to the grey inanimate objects found on mountainsides and NOT an encyclopedic knowledge of music!). Have a black tee shirt with pink print of a load of skeletons raising champagne glasses and the words 'man band' on the front. On the back, four more skellies in top hats and dinner jackets, under which is 'nineteeneightyfuckingfourtour'. Which obviously dates the thing, but were many made?

It's official - I had one, bought it at a gig in Glasgow in 1985 I think, some club above Sauchiehall Street. Then it shrank a lot in the wash - well, surely it can't have been me expanding ... Sold it to someone on this forum, I forget who, in return for a pint. Haven't collected that yet!

Night Moves that would be.   Used to be the White Elephant which was one of the best dance halls in Glasgow.  Well, I thought so anyway

Yes, so did I. And why am I two down? Not good (lol as they say)

Anyway, sorry to change the subject, but can I suggest any Wales or near Wales residents, go and watch GJ's band asap. Saw them on Sat night and they really are good. George is brillliant, and I still can't get my head around him using a mobile phone as a plectrum! You've got to see him. Just remembered, he didn't use his cutlery this time as a plectrum, another must see. Great entertainment. If George and Bob can get SOM or similar together, will be awesome.
Great to meet up with Phil Pardoe, who for many years has been our 'Plastic Scouse'  What I didn't realise was, and I sense a smite coming here, is our very much loved, Mike M, is a plastic cockney!! What a shocker. A pair of plastics. You will have to meet each other. Blummim' glory seekers the pair of you (more lol's)

Oh well, that's another smite.

:)

I'm ashamed to say I can't remember the bloke from Man's extended families name, But his wife was called Jenny (Thomas?) and her brother is Arthur, yes, yes I'll get to the point now, but he passed on a few years ago and a comment of his was 'English by birth, Welsh by choice'.  Me too 8)

Ian Hislop is the other way around having been born in Mumbles.

PS I was fluent in Welsh before I was in English.  Perhaps not the best thing living 20 miles north of London :)

Ian Hislop born in Mumbles? You Welsh folk are probably glad he moved out. Probably the most irritating up his own arse git in the history of mankind.
Oh, I've just thought of someone else.........

If we're going to start a list, I'd like to follow that with Russell Brand...
