Highlight's from Saturday's game - http://ptfc.co.uk/media/video/match_highlights/2012-2013/1808_dunfermline_athletic

Early on in this, there's a series of 42 consecutive passes by Thistle before they lose possession in the Dunfermline box.  Fantastic stuff - great patience to pass the ball about until they can get it into a dangerous area and making the oppostion work like hell.

There were still some in the stands shouting "hump it" and suchlike.  Neanderthals.

I was speaking with my Jags supporting pal today. Discussed business and stuff, then I said to him "right then, onto more important things" and told him about this video clip of 42 consecutive passes which eventually led to.................nothing! ( I did say that Allan, with just the right length pause for dramatic effect, but all in jest. Please don't smite me). HOOOOOFFFF :)

But the opposition were so spooked they conceded a goal in the next attack.

And some simple logic.

Partick Thistle beat Everton
Everton beat Manchester United
therefore Partick Thistle are better than Manchester United.

Rob W - your applaud / smites thing were on 599 each.  Can't remember if it's 'applaud' as I usually associate you with smites ;). I felt the need to take you to 600 and after a short deliberation as to which way I should go, I went for...

Applaud!

600. Yay!

Mike M - Thank you. I was about 6 up the other day. Then pegged back with a load of smites. Who the blinkin' eck has got the time or inclination to do this, and why? But as long as in some way, I'm providing a service I'm happy. :)

The users on line facility can be interesting..sometimes the words "smiting a member" appears next to someones name... ;)  (One hopes this does not refer to dodgy personal habits...)

Back onto the important matter of Partick Thistle - we're now bookies favourites to win the league at 5/2.  That spells doom......

But isn't there a cliche - 'bookies are never wrong are they?'

Interestingly enough - always a sure sign that a post isn't going to be - I was talking to a former bookie recently and it was explained to me that bookies have no real inside knowledge, but they base the odds on betting patterns and how much money is being laid, the odds are then calculated to mitigate the risk to the bookie rather than as an indicator of a likely outcome.

That is a simplistic version of what I was told and I'm sure someone out would be able to refine it if they really want to.

Comfy 3-0 win today which means we set a new club record for straight wins in competitive matches in a new season, and also sit on our own at the top of the league.

I'll enjoy it while I can.......

I knew you won (and 2,900 on. Hope you break 3k next match), but interesting point about sitting on your own at the top of the league. My man down here was telling me earlier in the week, 'typical Thistle. We've won however many matches but so have 3 other teams, so we're not at the top' Think he said 3, but if not, you get the gist (jist?). Nice irony! :)
