Interesting point about goalies clearing the half way line these days. If that's so, prefer it if they stayed as they were! Goalies should give the ball out  to player coming deep and build from the back. Bit of a hobby horse of mine, that. But yes, mostly agree with your views on the match.
Hope you weren't at the badminton match which had those players disqualified. That said, how can anyone watch a sport where the ball has its own parachute  :)

I used to be a 'keeper, but if I managed to get the ball 10 yards out of the box when I took a goal kick it felt like I deserved a lap of honour!

So you were a keeper? Something to talk about on my next visit to S.Wales. And don't they say you have to be bonkers to be a goalie :)

Which in the days of the wet leather "casey" would be well deserved! If you got a decent slap off one of them you had the print of the ball on your thigh for a week!

Me n brother had a casey. With a twist. We took the bladder out of it, and used to play '3 and in' on the upstairs landing. You could wack it as hard as you could, but wouldn't break anything. Great days!

So, you started at a young age?

just watched the 100m mens race. Reminded me of sex. All that fuss, hype, and anticipation........and it's finished in a flash.   :)

There's that funny smell in my bedroom again. No idea what it is. The walls don't look damp, I have washed and sniffed everything I possibly could, now I'm dizzy and hyperventilating. I wish my bedroom would. The loft smells ok, nothing obvious outside....I can even smell it a bit in here now... 'here' being the theoretical third bedroom, situated next to my bedroom at the front of the house...in practice it's only just about big enough for me and my computer....

Can anybody else smell it? Better still, what can I do about it?

Do you share your home with a cat? I noticed an odd smell in our home recently. Turned out Spike the cat had abandoned a dead mouse in a dark corner. Rotting mouse flesh has an oddly sweet odour. And no, sorry, I can't smell it here, so I'm only guessing. Good luck in tracking it down.

Some come to visit, but they can't be arsed to go upstairs.

I thought it may be damp related, but apparently not....I checked with a grown up. It's a complete mystery - immediately noticeable when you open the bedroom door. Not a pleasant smell. It just appears (PING) from nowhere.... then goes....

My dog does that

I'll say. Is Thursday still ok?

So, let's examime the evidence...

The only room in the house with a 'smell', is NN's bedroom. Inside of which there is (possibly) the ubiquitous 'damp patch'.

I rest my case

I'm afraid it's getting worse. There are now 6 trillion gnats/mosquitoes/somethings milling around the back right corner of my back garden. Something's going on and I don't know what it is.

That's a bit ruff. Does he go by bus? Maybe he could get a rover ticket. On the other paw it seems that if you were a member of Help Yourself, dogs will like you -a tradition started by Crosby (was there really a puppy called Gnash?) and continued last weekend....
