Also note there's an article on Rick Griffin?

Yes, but there's not much to it, Rob. I'll scan it for you if you want. Rick Griffin - responsible for the most iconic Man logo of all time. MAM - responsible for the most ironic Man album of all time. Ha.

Not sure how legible this will turn out - shame that 'preview' doesn't display the attachments - an article on Man from a magazine called OD which was being sold at the 1976 Reading Festival. As far as I know there was never an issue 2. You can expand the image by clicking on it, but theoretically here's the cover and the two page article....fingers crossed....

There  were at least 3 issues of O.D. as no.3 had articles on Alkatraz and the Flying Aces (see attached scans - only a photocopy unfortunately but just about legible).

Thanks Mr P. Interesting to note that MA was seen as Paul Kantner at the time. And now we know why poor Richard Treece's pins are so iffy.

Nearly forgot. In fact I did forget, then I remembered, then I forgot what it was I remembered. A brief mention on the interwave amongst 'Welsh Icons' here: http://www.welshicons.org.uk/html/man.php albeit a bit dated....however, if you try to vote for them, it takes you to another screen that doesn't allow you the option of voting for them. Pah!

Dated - Yep,  that's the Wikipedia article in 2006

..I just did some of the "How Welsh are you" tests.

Lowest score was 70%, getting 100% on most of the language questions. I knew learning Gaelic would be useful..

Appalling condition, but I found this advert for the Neutron's first album which I'm too thick to try and join, so this is the top bit:

...and this is the bottom bit. Not sure of the publication, but there's an article on Roger McGuinn on the back and would either be the NME, Melody Maker or Sounds. I'm sure a wiser force knows.

It's the NME 7 Sept 1974. Thanks, wise force.

Next from 28/6/1980 is an ad for Manipulator (featuring MJ) playing at The Old Queen's Head in South London, again not sure of the publication, but the set is likely to have included some or all of Asylum, Back Together Again, Talk About A Morning and Breaking Up Once Again.

This is new to me - in fact it's the earliest Manipulator gig date I've seen.  It closes the gap between the end of the Micky Jones Band (circa March'80) and the start of Manipulator.

And the last of this latest bunch of little finds is from the Melody Maker 1 November 1980 reviewing the Terry & The Pirates LPs. Might be of interest to Mike C (if he hasn't seen it already)

'Too Close' is essential Cippollina doing all the stuff you wish he would have done on the Max Dark tour - I believe this was recorded by our Ron and get it if you can. 'Handshake' was not so hot. At all.

Nice quote - 'On the Hawaiian steel guitar he is not even approximately in tune'.

there were plenty of other songs I'd would have chosen to use, but Terry didn't want to give up to many originals. Some great playing on the long pieces Don't Do It and Monkey Bag.
