I suppose this is where, again, I show my complete ignorance of all things musical (except that with a Welsh Connection of course), but the Rolling Stones. What on earth is all the fuss about? And that goes from the 1960's but moreso today.

Sorry.....

Apologize not Robbers old chap, each to their own.  My old man lost the head entirely when he heard Erotica for the first time..... I was destined for hell on a one way ticket....which proved true until the divorce came through. ;)

agree. They were a good rock and roll band but I never thought that they were so stupendous. They were good at what they did. End of. And as for Glastonbury, Great for guys of their age, amazing energy etc, but not  the greatest Glastonbury act ever.

Thank you Proffy Rock, and thank you my favourite Unc.

Now, I've just got to work a little bit harder on Oakers, and those Riverside people,  and I've cracked it!

Heron will no doubt rain on my parade, though...... Any moment now......     ;D

I am not really a Stones fan but they have done a few good tracks! And at least I can now say I saw them!
As we are on the MAN forum its obvious that they are one of my faves alongside Van der Graaf Generator and if we are talking modern bands then The Pineapple Thief take alot of beating  8)

Saw VDGG n Glasgow last week - still an immensely powerful band as a trio.

Having said that, Peter Hammill's looking increasingly frail although still lively enough.

Absolutely agree Mr H, a fantastic set from a Master producer, song writer and guitarist.  A bit of a guilty pleasure but I have had the Chic "Risque" album for about 20 years. I still enjoy it a lot. The late Bernard Edwards was an amazing Bass Player.

Not sure about The Stones, it was good but a bit of going through the motions. I saw them a couple of times at Wembley in the early 1990's where they were phenominal.

And who was the Kenny Rogers imposter - not even a look alike  :o

Stones in Glasto - Emperor's new clothes I thought.

Apologies if that sounds like Yoda.  Just finished watching Revenge of the Sith.  Now that's what I call a really good film which probably surpasses any other Sci fi...  I'll stop there.
