It says at the top of this post 'Read four times'.

I obeyed, rubbed my eyes and still don't believe it!

Mind you, 'Fulham signs player' would be news...

Nice, chirpy preview of the new season

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23478812

First game tomorrow night (live on BT Sports - kick 1945) - will have a better feel for how I think we'll do this year after that.

Best wishes tonight Mr Herron. I'll be keeping a Liam Gallagher on the score

Nice curtain raiser for the big match tomorrow :))

Good point for Mr Heron (one 'r' forgive me for typo in previous post)?

Or 2 points dropped?

What was the crowd?

How much grief was given to your ex manager?

C'mon Shakers tomorrow. 0-2 will be better than expected!!

A great point.  Game could have gone either way but the draw was probably about right.

Really pleased as we played excellently and weren't remotely overawed.    If we can maintain that  level of performance then we should be fine this year.

Crowd was about 7,700 of which 2,100 were Dundee United fans.

McNamara was roundly abused as expected.   Chris Erskine was brought on a a sub by United and was warmly applauded onto the park - response to Paton was more muted.

Interesting thing was that last night's team was, with one exception, all last year's players.   New blood yet to make an impact and some of them will be capable of that.

Watched the game again this morning on BT Sport1 just to confirm that we were are impressive as I thought we were.

Nice report, and appreciate you not just giving the total attendance, but the split.

An increase of c.3k home fans when everyone's on holiday is a good sign?

Should think so, and the quality of football should certainly encourage them to return.

I did like the TV coverage - seemed to do a better job for the Scottish game than Sky have been doing.  Although why they had Neil Warnock there is anyone's guess but he thought it was a terrific game and said very nice things about us (and, to be fair, Dundee United)

To use the old cliche, it was a great advert for the Scottish game

And the game being on the Friday night has allowed me to focus on laughing at Rangers as they get knocked out of the League Cup at the first round.  (By Forfar, managed by a former boss at Firhill!!)

The other manky mob sneaked home with a late winner

The evil Warnock managed us. An utter disgrace who rubbished the club, his employers, the fans, at every opportunity.

We christened him COLIN which was quite ingenious. If unaware, take the letters COLIN out of Neil Warnock, and that's what he is

You know how on the keystone CD, our Deke asks for a coke, no response, so says "ok then" (or similar) in that resigned kind of a way?

Is anybody going to congratulate me on my correct forecast of a 0-2 home defeat to the mighty Chesterfield? No? Ok then (to be said in a Deke Leonard resigned kind of a way, when he's asked for a glass of coke and been unceremoniously snubbed) :))
