Yes I have heard of Man U.  And no, I'm not a Man U hater at all.

I was heavily involved in youth football, and Man U do more for kids such as donating kits, balls, match tickets etc than many other teams, including the down and outs who play in white and royal blue in front of 2k and need all the publicity and goodwill they can muster!!

And my lad spent 5 or 6 happy years there before they got wise to him, and saw that no way was he better than his dad was. And he did f*ck all.   (and that was my 'Plan A' screwed )       

Incidentally, the Bury Revolution started last night after being p*ss*d on by Chessie  last Saturday. Newport away soon.  Hmmmm I'm thinking on this very carefully.

Rob, genuinely, that's good to hear.  All for a bit of banter, but the hatred is getting a bit silly about what is just a game despite what Shankly said.
They were very big in the 70's but a dirty pack of sods who had a lot of talent but preferred clogging the opposition.

They are now in the Championship and long may they stay there or go down!

Did you hear about Newport the other night?  1-0 down to Brighton, ended up winning  1-3 with two of the goals being scored in added time.

Last time I was there was in about 1978/9 when the Swans were playing in some sort of cup. Gwent police wanted us bad boys off the street asap and tried to walk us to the ground from the station.  My brother and I just hung back when they started the walk and headed for a pub.  This was about 11:00 in the morning.  There's SFA to do in Newport at any time of day without the option of 4 hours in Somerton Park waiting for the kick off.
We won and to top it off, my girlfriend, later to become my wife and later ex-wife, bought me a VDGG live album as a pressie the same day. Vital?

Paid our entry at the turnstile and then paid a further 50p at another turnstile to get into a stand.  The barrier behind one goal mouth was a piece of rope strung across the pitch about 3 or 4 feet back from the line.

Actually just 3-1.  We scored late on but it was disallowed.  Most of the news chappies continued to show this as a genuine goal.

Spookily, same with us yesterday. We equalised to make it 1-1, few mins later, BBC give it as 2-1 to us, name of scorer, everything. It was a disallowed goal!
