The Flower Kings!

Alright...come on. You fellas knew all about this band didn't you...and you decided you weren't going to tell Oakers?
Took my first dip with an epic double CD called Flower Power, and frankly it's awesome. Wonderful complex and varied prog' shot through with memorable melodies, riffs and musicianship. If by chance you haven't heard them before and decide to investigate, those of you who like to do the 'sounds like' thing will need a long checklist at the ready. Intentionally or not, they reference just about everybody...including Focus at the start of this monster guitar track...which is as good as any spacey guitar track I've heard in a long time. And it only too me 15 years to find it...

Ahhhh but Oakers the halfamix knows about the Flower Kings! Although I only have two of their releases but they are both double CD's "Stardust We Are" and "Paradox Hotel"  :)

I'm sure it's going to transpire that I'm the only one who didn't know anything about them!

Relax - I was living in blissful ignorance as well.

Excellent band - got all their albums, and Roine Stolt and Tomas Bodin's solo stuff too.

I'm going to have to follow suit. Already love The Flower Kings almost as much as that Polish band, whose name I dare not mention again for fear of further smiting from Rob. This year's foray into Prog' land has proved a costly...but very enlightening diversion. Santa's going to have to bring me some more shelving too!

You can never have too much shelving!!! On a major design mission here, 2014 could be the year I get all my music out on display for the first time ever :)
