Go would be mind / mynd (can't recall the spelling), allan would be out.

So mind allan would be go/ing out.

Barry,  I often wonder where in the depths of my memory I drag it up from.  Haven't had a conversation in Welsh for probably 45 years or so, but I suppose when you pick something up at a very young age it can stay with you for life.

If it's been googled etc, I will mention that I've done it.
My spelling is probably bloody awful though!

Thanks, all. Entirely sober evening out for a lovely meal with my wife Eileen, along with Martin and his girlfriend.  Friday's beer and curry night though  ;)

I always enjoyed seeing the lay-bys on the west coast of Wales with the signs that said 'Allan Out'.

Oddly on the roads down to Swansea from the M5 they say 'Allan Exit' which isn't nearly as amusing.

And let's not forget the wonderful John Bannon with whom I share my birthday.

Gorsaf/Station caused some confusion on a trip through Wales many years ago. Thought Gorsaf was a town and we were going round in circles....!

My brother-in-law once suggested we go to Traeth Beach for the day. He's from Staffordshire. Took a while for us to convince him it was a bilingual sign that he saw.

And Many Happy Returns (belatedly) Allan (or Exit) from this little corner of Cymru/Wales.

Cue 'We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides, We'll keep a welcome in the dales, This land of ours will still be singing, When you come home again to Wales' Always sing this to the family when we cross the Severn Bridge. As you can imagine they are always well impressed.

May I just say HB 2 JB?

More abbreviations for Scourie Man to wrestle around :)

I know your geoger is utter sh*te, (B*lt*n/Bury pffft!), but since when has Clydach been Scourie?

Being you though, you're forgiven. And of course you were wrong, but then you knew that didn't you ;)
