A new TV star
« on: November 15, 2014, 02:08:43 PM »
Just watching BBC1 and a trailer came on for the party conferences. About 5 seconds in, immediately after a shot of the autocue, a devilishly handsome chap with a beard and nodding his head comes into shot.  Congratulations on your tv appearance, Mr Allan Heron!

If it wasn't you Allan, you should avoid identity parades at all costs.

Not seen the tv ad, but if it's the same beard as per Jags v Celtic, April 2014, could be that bloke who wrote Das Kapital? Now that would cause confusion at an identity parade. I think the beard as per SoM, Swansea, a few weeks back was a pale imitation.  Which beard will be on show come 13 December?

Allan Heron. Our very own fashion icon. :)

Rob, it was a fairly chunky beard but I can't recall how it compared to his summer weight display look in August. Now was that the 28th or 29th? Got my ticket yesterday so I will be there on 13 Dec to check it out. Pre gig pint or two in the Uplands Tav or elsewhere?

On the telly again?   Yawn  ;)

Which t-shirt was I wearing?  There were some good shots of me wearing a Rezillos t-shirt in amongst the suits.

The April hair was considerably longer/thicker than the August variant.   It was dealt with before we went on holiday at the beginning of July but had gone untouched since the previous September when I retired.

When I was about 9, I was on TV.

I was  at the real Old Trafford, watching England play West Indies.  John Edrich scored a century, and I was one of a few who ran on the pitch to congratulate him, to get ticked off by the police.

Of course,  this was caught on TV, and when I got home, I received a right royal b*ll*ck*ng off my Dad !

Rob, a century! How many did George Best score?

6 against Northampton Town as we keep getting reminded up here.

Which pales into insignificance when compared to Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic Football Club's Ted MacDougall's 9 against Margate in the Cup, and is only marginally better than Chris Duffy's 4 for Shakers against Halifax Town in Div 4 in the 70's or 80's, at which some Bury fans went in the away end, nabbed a Halifax banner, and set fire to it behind the goal in full view of everybody including the Rozzer's.  Ahhhh, those were the days.

Here is a little teaser for all you footie fans. Who were the only two Man Utd players to play for the first team whose names were the same as flowers?

Baz, you've still not got the hang of this how to quote mullarkey have you? :)

Answering the question, I can only think of Dennis Violet, presuming he was a striker.

Bury have a Danny Rose who is a striker. Remember, Mikey Mike's reorganisation of the counties of NW England, has M/cr lying within the county of Greater Bury. Is that counted?
