Topic used to be my favourite. Are they still around? I haven't done sweets or chocolate for a while.

Well, never underestimate the power of the sweetie buying public. That's why you see Wispas in shops again.

As for Lion Midget Gems, yes they were a whole lot better than the rebranded toot.

Terry's tried that kind of trick on Turkish Delight bars when they bought Fry's but someone must have had a word because it didn't last long. Their retribution, I must conclude, can only be the discontinuation of the Five Centres variant of Fry's Chocolate Creme.

Now I must go and see if I can find a (Cadbury's surrogate Kit-Kat) Bar Six or maybe a Golden Cup caramel bar before the shops shut...

And Toblerone..

Now available in a vast array of flavours, dark, fruit and nut, honeycomb... No doubt cherry mint next..
Then they could do limited edition shapes, can you imagine a square toblerone?

Virgin places don't mean a thing to people who never bring their hearts along.

The power of advertising.

My ex and I once sang different songs advertising sweeties all the way from Manchester to London without repeating ourselves....

"They last a long while, the 4 minute smile, The longest lasting fruit gums in the world"

I hate do do this Martin...... did the sweets last longer than the relationship, four minutes seems a bit short for any sort of relationship......even a one night stand.....

I knew that was a bad example of a jingle.

So... "Smartie people have funny faces. They smile all the time because they're feeling fine. They're all living in Smartie land. What a lot of fun, Smarties"

Rob. You'll wake up singing these in the middle of the night.  A ha ha ha ha ha ha!  ;D

It's a shame Miles Davis never advertised Rowntrees sweets.

"Don't forget the fruit gums, motherf***er"

Ummm ...

just a short one on twix - I love'em but hate the name for over 20 years now. I still refer to the name it was called in Germany, before it went international: RAIDER. Isn't that one fantastic?  ;D

So is Rob the Organ now Rob the Guitar?

I treated myself to a vintage 1964 Harmony H78. Welcome proof that there are still great old USA-made guitars around for less than ?500.

Is a bar of chocolate usually acceptable proof that there are old USA made guitars for less than ?500? ::)
