Apparently it was someone called  Jay McGhee - who is now retiring, so it looks like Allan Heron could now get his chance as they need a new "Kingsley" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-36686461

Some things might be worth coming out of retirement for, but I had to turn it down as there's a home tie that clashes with Micky's Christmas Jam.

I have a clear sense of priorities  8)

Does Micky's Jam always clash with Jags home fixtures? Seems to!

It has tended to.  It's against Celtic this year. Wouldn't have been going anyway.

Just checked our fixture on 10 December. Not for the first time, I could have a double header. We are away at Bristol Rovers. Very very do-able. Thank you Mr/Ms Fixture Compiler.  :)

Rob,

Do you remember a Bury player called Malcolm 'Mally' Brown, who went onto become a bit of a legend at Huddersfield, and then had a brief injury-marred spell with Newcastle?
I ask coz' he and I played in the same school team at Worsley Wardley. Although he became an attacking right-back, he was centre-forward in the school team, and head and shoulders better than anybody else on the park in every game we played.

Yes I do. Right full back.

Shocking player for us, received no end of stick from the crowd, and I remember nobody could believe it when Huddersfield came in for him, but he did extremely well for them.
