Whiplash

Couldn't resist picking up this film on DVD...not least because the track of the title is the first number on one of my Don Ellis Band albums and a classic Hank Levy 'counterpoint' composition...not that I could tell you what that means, to be honest. I was riveted from start to finish.
It ain't rock, but there's some very classy musicianship throughout...and the drumming is spectacular. Wonder if Bob's seen it?

I heartily concur. Riveting, and did the lead actor do his own drumming? It looked like it. Music is music is music, whether it's rock or anything else.
