Thanks so much to everyone who has pledged so far, we are very close to our target, however we still need to keep the pledges coming in to get started on the recording. Without label support we are going about this independently Huge thanks to you all for your support, it's mind-blowing! But we are so close now we can almost smell it! Lets keep it going.
The Pledge details are below, if you would like to get involved in the making of this album, please let us know....
We could not have got this far without you all! Thank-you!

*********SON OF MAN - THE ALBUM PLEDGE**********
Some of you who recieve The Welsh Connection newsletter will have already heard todays news about the pledge for our new album.
So here it finally is, please take a second to read our pledge and if you would like to get involved, please contact us!
On ‘leaving’ Man, Bob Richards and myself decided we would make a start on recording our own album. That was a good while ago now: as John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans”.
One of the things that happened was the loss of my father, Micky. Even though he was not a member of the Manband when he passed, his loss left a huge hole in the heart of us all.
We celebrated his life over two nights in 2010 and it was a great success. Following these tribute shows, a line-up was formed which led to the band Son of Man. Over the past two years we have performed to an audience that was not otherwise being reached and have built up a rapport with them. But now it’s time to move on.
As well as classic Man music, we have also performed original material written and recorded after the split in 2008. The current line-up of Son of Man has also been writing some new tunes and, I’m pleased to say, the vibe and feel is all there.
So we want to record a new album – and this costs money. If you would like to pre-order this, you will receive a copy immediately upon release. The basic cost is £13 plus £2 postage and packing (UK).
But there is more.
For a minimum of £25 (bronze), you receive a CD and have your name printed in the inlay, recognizing you as a subscriber.
For a minimum of £50 (silver) you receive a CD and have your name printed in the inlay, plus a ticket to the album launch show.
For a minimum of £75 (gold), you receive a CD and have your name printed in the inlay, plus a ticket to the album launch show. You will also receive a limited edition album-subscriber T-shirt and a copy of the Marco James and Paul Davies album “Passages” also featuring Ray Jones and Richie Galloni.
Regardless of the level you select, we undertake to update you by email of the progress of recording. We are very grateful for your support – and needless to say any donation you wish to make beyond the stated levels would help us out even more.
The plan is to use the money for recording, mixing, mastering and production of the album. We intend to spend a long weekend in Rockfield laying down the basic tracks, using other studios as funds permit to complete the album. We plan to release it around Christmas this year.
If we can get a record out, it will help this band move forward – and with the money generated from its release, we can record another...
Thanks for listening. Please contact me at the address below for payment options and any other information you require.
George (and on behalf of Bob, Glenn, Marco, Ray and Richie)

Hi George,

I've posted a link on Dime to this thread, in the thread for the Dagenham show, hopefully it'll generate a few pledges!
