I wouldn't worry, Ron. I don't think he's going anywhere in a hurry  :)

There are 7 guitar tracks Richard did on Brave New Girl. The slide and 12-string are the foundation. The other 5 will be reduced down to one. I've mapped it out and made some notes. Ricky started with some ideas. Once he has a couple of passes at it, he's got it nailed.

Holy shit. You will not believe what lies hidden in the 4 solo guitar tracks. I just worked out the big end solo... two massive guitars weaving together. I've been up since 5am working on this. My mind is blown. I have only had a very rough mix to listen to all these years. What I just listened to is not at all what I was expecting. We can all just go home now. Game over

here is a link to a dropbox download.

This is an outtake from the box. It was a little ragged. The other version was better. This link will only be up until the end of the year. Please don't repost this anywhere. It's just for you who bother to peek into this thread.

an unexpected FB message call from Martin Ace today. I'd asked if he could write something for the Brain Box about Richard Treece. I always enjoy these calls from Ace. We had some good laughs. We mourned the passing of too many friends. And ironically I've returned my attention  to a remix of The Single #2 today. The band signed off on the remix ofRecords cover we'd done. The Man tune had some issues. I solved the problem in short order.

Martin's young daughter saw my face on the phone and said " I saw you before  you were younger" what do kids know?

if anyone is following...

4 hours of audio has been sent off to be mastered. The final track list is attached:

Richard plays on Disc 1- 2,6,8,16
Disc 2- all tracks
Disc 3- 1,4,8,13,14

Ken plays on - Disc 1- 1,4
Disc 2- 12
Disc 3 - 4, 8

Malc plays on disc 1 -

Dave Walker is on quite a lot, including Brave New Girl
Deniz Tek is on 8 tracks. More fun is A Radio Birdman song we did with him

There will be a 20 page book, with lots of photos. Packaged in a DVD size booklet.
There may be a vinyl single disc, but this would depend on crowd funding. More about that once we know the final cost of the cd package.

The audio for the box set has now been mastered. Sounds very nice despite the vintage and various sounds. The Treece material, particularly the second disc will blow some minds. There will be some unexpected things for you. If you are wondering. The rehearsals were for this show, The Seattle Terrastock. The audio was recorded on multi track, and freshly mixed for this set.

This beast is moving forward, slowly. I finally got the first cover art drafts. It looks good. A few changes requested, but we are on the right path. Still good for end of August release. Watch for pre-orders. There will be some incentives offered...

Cover design is moving along, though slower than expected.
First half of the booklet is now complete. Tom Azure is doing a fantastic job.
