One for Joan here ...just found Terry drumming alongside Dave Charles ..or have you seen it ???....not only that but before he had his Ponytail removedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMYT3DoMOPU

yes, many thanks!  ;)
I have that concert  ;D, I think it's a "Dave Edmunds and friends" concert, with Dion, Graham Parker and others.
I see there are many clips of this concert, for example this one with Dave:

One for the friends and family section perhaps, Ducks Deluxe on a clip from 'The Old Grey Whistle Test': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6IDGGJVnBo

This was prompted by Andy's question regarding Help Yourself cover versions on another thread, particularly the Sean Tyla bit. DD were Sean's band although he was a part-time Help Yourselfer at one point. Ken Whaley played in the Ducks for a while and Nick Garvey/Andy McMaster later became The Motors, who for a period had TW and MA in their ranks. Sean also played with DL in The Force, so I reckon this just about qualifies.

You also get an introduction from one of my heroes.

I am sure I have a cassette tape of the "Blown away" recording somewhere. I will explore the loft! The Youtube version is from the Radio 1 broadcast (1973?) which also featured Romaine and Scotch Corner (or God Gave Us Turtles as it was called then). I seem to recall that the boys opened the Winos tour set with Blown Away in 1974.

I have found a tape I made off the Whistle Test in early 1974. It's a bit rough as I used an external mike (technology has moved on a tad since then) - it's Iceberg playing Jayhawk Special with Breeze, Charles and Ace I think. I remember it was prior to the release of Kamikaze as I was disappointed when I bought the record cos the live version was better! Nothing new there then.

Greetings Buster, in fact this very clip has featured in discussions elsewhere on the board quite recently. Exactly where, nobody knows...

In that case we'll be round with blank tape (or whatever it is nowadays...)

From now on, you're one of us.

Cheers Nick

Forgot to add that the Iceberg OGWT number was filmed as Deke was back as part of Man and was on tour in the States in early '74.

Now returned from the loft where I could not find the audio from '73 referred to earlier but I have found a recording of the Radio 1 in concert (Live in London) set. I think it is the same as the CD except that Andy Dunkley is on as MC. This must be one of the last shows that Ken did with the band. Micky Jones is on fire in that session and his playing on 7171 and Breaking Up is top draw. I also found a tape (it was cutting edge technology in those days!) made in the concert hall at Birminghan off the Up for the Day Tour in 73 - my first Manband exposure.

In fact it was Pete Drummond....yes, it's part of the 'Live In London' CD. All evidence of it being from a BBC radio show had to be replaced, which is why there's no DJ and a different (and larger) audience added to give the impression it was a gig.

Twitch....Twitch....Twitch....err, Buster....why don't we have a little chat. It's good to talk! You can reach me at nick@nicknation.co.uk. The rest of you just go away.

Yes it was Pete Drummond on the Radio 1 concert- I was getting a bit misty eyed about Greasy Truckers

Talking of Radio 1 my final contibution from the vaults is a recording of the single A Hard Way To Live being broadcast on the Dave Lee Travis Show! Chart fame for Mr Leonard? Sadly not.

That's it. I'm off....

Nick - I will send you a note

Did it not tickle the chart for one week at number 50?

I do remember that it was played reasonably heavily on the radio.  Another hit that shouldn't have been that suffered the same was Blue's Little Jody.

It is, indeed, a hard way to live  ::)

Deke Leonard's Iceberg In search of Sarah, Feltham Rox http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZcMNwrl6bw

Presumably the full tape of the gig still exists somewhere? I recall that it was deemed to be not good enough for a proper release at the time. How about someone converting to digital and putting on Dime (or whatever)?

Indeed. Presumably all the footage from that TWC still exists, as the same user has this Clive / Tweke number -

and several others -

while this stage full of Spunk Rock captures the reunion spirit of the event -

Never heard of Veoh before - I assume this is what you are referring to:

http://www.veoh.com/search/videos/q/welsh+convention#watch%3Dv18127999Cp6kNTpR

Appears to be low quality streaming video. Not sure that I am keen on installing their client to view the whole thing, either. Better than nothing, but surely someone out there has a better quality source than this.

Veoh isn't the best but it's free and an easy way to share more than the 10 minutes that YouTube restrict you to and yes the source is a lot better but still far from brilliant... but as you say better than nothing...also with Veoh the client is not just a viewer it is the download tool, you can remove any downloads from the folder should you desire ...what ever you do it still plays in QuickTime and or VLC...

Many thanks for the entire concert!
I've registered and downloaded it.
I've seen only parts. I don't know all the songs, there are some songs from The Twang dinasty album and I almost don't know it.
It would be great to do a set-list of the concert, with the guests and all.
I see Deke, Micky, Martin, Pugwash, Clive, Terry, Tweke and Ray. There is other man on guitar I don't know right now.

It's really pathetic to see a completely drunk Terry Williams trying to play the drums....  :-[
