After very nearly 30 years, Northdown (founded October 1988) is closing for business on 31 December.

If you need Deke books for Christmas presents, etc, please get in touch. There will then be a pause before Mary takes up the reins.

Thanks for all your support over the years, and here's hoping for a long retirement!

Thanks Northdown for keeping Michael in work (and thanks Michael for keeping Northdown afloat). As someone once said, "Live long and prosper".  Happy retirement.  Cheers...

Seconded. Your mercy stall at Man (and SoM) gigs has always been welcomed by me. Time for a rest now, so best wishes to you both.

The end of an Era!
We Manfans and Dekefans have been uniquely lucky that Northdown has existed all these years, with the Welsh Connection, the merchandise stands at the gigs, and Deke's books, which, as Deke was always quick to point our,  would never happened without Michael.
I make that approximately 20 years of dedicated service to all things Man Band.
I hope next year's  SoM gig celebrating 50 years of Man will also have a spot to commemorate  20 years of Michael and Northdown.

Best wishes to Michael and Helen, and see you at the gigs!

Many thanks to you, Michael.  Our little apocalyptic community was built around The Welsh Connection.  Without it, so much of what we all have enjoyed and appreciated over the years may never have happened.  Well, it may have but loads of us would never have known about it.

A long and happy retirement for you and Helen is the very least you deserve.

My very best wishes to Michael and Helen, and thanks for everything they have done.

Possibly confirming Allan's words, I do believe quite a few of us were alerted to the post 76 Man with Michael's article in the Record Collector.

Does anybody know the date The Manband Archive started? Presumably Jules? In my opinion, that date should also be remembered because it's the forum which brought us lot together. Thanks to Jules also.

A well earned retirement Michael (and Helen).

I can't thank you enough for everything you've done to keep our heroes in the public eye.

Thank you all.

And return thanks and respect to Jules, who took the baton and ran with it - as someone  8) once said, where would we be without you?

Well done Northdown and those heroic figures who sailed and steered her so wonderfully. Thanks for everything!
Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense

So, farewell then,
Northdown Publishing,
You've gone south.

Sadly you're no longer printing.
But keep on crinting,
Man.

Enjoy the retirement, perhaps by reading other peoples books rather than writing your own.
thanks for publishing four of the funniest books that I have read and then re-read.

keep on crinting

Michael

Along with Jules, you have done more to keep the name and legend of the band than seemed humanly possible.

I suspect that your efforts and work kept the band going during the 80's and 90's when many others would have thrown in the towel, giving a point around which we could all rally and show that the fans were still out there.

You deserve to put your feet up and enjoy your life and family and I wish you all the best.

Circumstances have kept me away for a few years - (but as a wise man once said - Circumstances get you every time), but I hope our paths do cross again. There's probably some retirement club for Bass Players out there.

Always remember the good times many of which were as a result of your tremendous efforts.

Good luck my friend.
