John Hiseman RIP.
« on: June 12, 2018, 05:58:57 PM »
So sorry to read that John Hiseman passed away today. Along with Man and Caravan, Colosseum were one of my favourites and I still play Colosseum Live regularly. Rest in peace John.

Yes sad news.I saw Jon Hiseman on the drums with the reformed Coliseum at the Canterbury Fayre show in 2000-Man were also on the bill.I knew nothing about Coliseum but they did put on a very good show. The crowd seemed to know their songs. The highlight was a tune called "Lost Angeles"

I did a gig with Hiseman in 2016 at a Surrey club. A nicer, more encouraging chap one could not hope to meet. I'm not one for loud drummers and feared the trademark double kick drum kit. Nope: a little tiny Gretsch jazz kit and a touch and sense of swing you just don't get in mere mortals, at whisper volume.

He paid me a lovely complement which I shall treasure to my own passing. RIP to a lovely man and stupendous talent.
