New Man Album
« on: December 22, 2018, 02:42:16 AM »
So, the new album by Man is due in early January/ February. A few of you will have heard  some new songs live during the Autumn and there were some very positive comments about a couple of the songs. As yet I have not seen or heard any previews of new songs on the Classic Rock, or Planet Rock websites. Nothing on Facebook nor Spotify. Nothing at all to tantalise us Man fans with a new product. Without promotion it aint going to sell many.

One of the dates on the January tour is the Giants of Rock festival at Minehead Butlins. Great weekend. Warm beds. Decent food. Great, good and rubbish bands. All you expect from a festival and a great weekend away during a cold and damp January. I've been for the last 4 years and had a great time. Sods law, but I can,t go this year and Man are on. Here's hoping the album is a stonker.

By the way Martin Ace if you're reading. The main room is a huge horrible room. Play the smaller Reds venue downstairs. More intimate. Saw Colosseum, Russ Ballard, Climax blues band, Wille and the Bandits, Roger Chapman and others go down a storm in there.

I have been trying without success to get an advance copy of the CD to review for Record Collector. You do wonder...

Interestingly, the last time Man had a decent publicity machine behind them was with Endangered Species, courtesy of Andrew Lauder's record label Evangeline. All the hacks were lined up to see the band showcase the album at Dingwalls, but when Phil returned to Denmark the gig was pulled.

Then, of course, we have seen Call Down The Moon being sold from the merch stand (guilty!) in brown paper bags cos the sleeve inset hadn't been printed.

And Reanimated Memories not being available at the Half Moon launch gig cos the record company tried to deliver them at 6.30 in the morning and got no answer.

All this, of course, will feature in God Walking Past Part III. Sorry...what's that you say?  ;D
