Hot Tuna
« on: September 24, 2019, 12:29:56 AM »
We saw electric Hot Tuna a couple of weeks ago. They played a very nice small venue just up the street. 2 hours plus of the most amazing live music I've seen in a long while. Both Jack and Jorma were looking fit and in fine form. Heavy would be a key word. I had expectations, but they exceeded them on every marker.

They are playing with the fire they had 45=50 years ago.

Been a good couple of weeks for live music. We also saw old folk singer Tom Rush the week before that. Also in top form

That's great Ron, and nice pic.

If anybody doesn't know H Tuna and want to investigate, I'd suggest 'America's Choice' or 'Burgers'. They did get a bit TOO heavy after that, matching Flying Vs and all that.

Jack Casady was one of our Ken's favourite bassists, he also had a matching guitar as per the picture. I think Jorma ran a guitar school for a while. Some of their playing with the Airplane is also just wonderful.

Lucky guy to see the tuna, not seen over here for many years.
The music heavy but the dress sense, well, a little low key thses days. Still, the chance to see god, aka Jack Casady..

The original power trio imho. Saw them at Knebworth in 1976. Outstanding!
Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense
