The Welsh Connection Scanned Copies
« on: April 23, 2021, 07:10:27 PM »
Jules posted a message on the Facebook page regarding the Welsh Connection magazine which has been scanned and uploaded.Congratulations are in order.Someone ,somewhere has put in one hell of a lot of work and a massive thank you to whoever it is.
It's taken me a while to work it out but I am getting there,I am staring to navigate around and a lot of memories have been coming back.
I have been reading about Man gigs I had long forgotten I had attended.
I have really enjoyed Deke's writing--been coming over all nostalgic.
I read that Man had played Cropredy back in '94 or at least were due to with Lindisfarne and Roy Harper on the same bill.I had seen Man twice in the 70's but didn't come back into contact with them until 1995  at Croydon ,Welsh Connection

Thanks Campbell. All credit should go to Michael Heatley and the team of contributors who made The Welsh Connection such an essential read. People such as Jim Norris, Martin Mycock, Nigel Cross, Pete Feenstra, but especially Michael, who knew we were all out there somewhere and did so much to find us.

Boldly going.......

This is a great idea. I didn't see any topic on Facebook about it.
It has to be spread to all the manfans, I'm sure we'll get all the magazines  8)

I saw Man at Cropredy in 1994. In the sunshine in the late afternoon on the Saturday. Lindisfarne & Roy Harper were on the Friday night although Roy joined Fairport to perform "When an Old Cricketer Leaves the Crease" on the Saturday evening.

I didn't see any topic on Facebook about it.

I just shared the original post to your timeline Joan.

I have good strong leads on the missing Magazines and Newsletters, so I hope to get the gaps filled within the next month or so.

I'll raise another help request to other fans if I'm not able to complete the set.
Boldly going.......

I have an edition somewhere but I can't remember where I put it. I remember it was probably an edition from the early 90s. Many thanks to you all for keeping this fantastic band alive.

Jules

There is a seat in Valhalla (or Olympus or the Elysian Fields - take your pick) for these. My copies of the Welsh Connection were lost in a move about 12 years ago and this lost has been long lamented.

Memories!
