New Board suggestions

Thanks for the tips guys. I really don't wish to be a killjoy and I know it's a 'user' problem, and your revelation about visitor stats would appear to underline that fact...but my visits to the old board and occasional, incoherent rantings, provided much relished occasional therapy to counter the daily drudge!
I do generally start with the 'unread posts' icon, but find the process of entering each subject domain individually - with all the backtracking involved - just too laborious and time consuming. And all the while I can't shake off the feeling that I'm in the wrong place and missing the hot topics.
And just to give you an idea of what you're up against Jules...I have no idea HOW to log in before I browse. I access this board by going to the old one and waiting for it to automatically flip over!
The main issue here is 'time,' as I don't have internet access at home  (I know - scary thought isn't it) and have tended to participate by dipping in and out.
Anyway...I've resolved to persevere. Perhaps Jules, you could drop me an e-mail to instruct me/remind me how to log in?

While we are on the subject of internet access, can one of the more experienced computer experts help me out.
Your not going to believe this or my stupidity.
I was getting the odd email about penis enlargement and viagra.... you know the type. Anyway I was getting pissed off with this, so emailed back to one of these people telling them if they persisted in sending me this type of crap I would send them a email with a virus attached that would collapse their computer (not that I would have a clue how to do this).
Well the upshot is I'm now receiving hundreds of these emails form all around the globe, I'm blocking the senders but at the rate these emails are coming, the memory on my computer is going to be used up.
Other than changing my email address is there anything I can do.

Motto of the story.... Never challenge a computer geek!

There is normally an option to permit mail only from addresses in your list of contacts from coming through. A friend uses it with good success. If none of the more technical types that lurk here can advise, I will speak to him if you like...

By responding to the mail you confirmed to the evil b*stards' automatic mailers that you have a valid address and that info would have been distributed immediately as a hot cert.
Your best bet is to log on to your internet/email provider site and have a look at the security settings for your email address. You may be able to block most of the spam from there.
You may have to delete your present address and set up another email identity which is a pain but does give respite.

If you scroll down to the 'Spam (Nuisance Emails)' section, it tells you in there how to configure 'SpamGuard' to work correctly with Outlook Express.

Please note that I just found this on the web - I'm not a BT/Yahoo customer, so I don't use this stuff myself.
