Themes - personalised Forum skins (careful how you say that)
« on: April 21, 2008, 11:03:45 PM »
The default look of the Manband Forum is intended to be clean and simple.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Now available for you to choose as your Forum's skin of choice are a bundle of new themes, each featuring one of Man's classic albums. To activate them, just click on the profile menu above, and choose "Look and Layout preferences" from the "Modify Profile" menu which will load at the left. Once loaded, at the top of your profile information you'll notice you have a Current Theme set. Click on the "change" link to access the Themes available to choose from.

To select a theme, click on its title (next to each thumbnail), or on the "use this theme" link at the right. The "preview" link does what it suggests, giving you chance to have a look at the screen full-size, before deciding if you'd like to use it.

You can set or reset your chosen theme whenever and as often as you like, and it's specific to your profile alone.

As well as the album themes, I've also created a couple of more generic ones, just for the variety.

If there's a skin you desperately want to see, but which isn't in the list, just add a reply in this topic. Not that I'm making any promises mind.

I could waste my whole day trying them all out. I went with BGTYALOAD... since there was no CDTM theme yet

That's one vote for CDTM then.

I haven't got to the post '83 albums yet, there's just so many of them  ;)

New theme added today, the Greasy Truckers Party - I quite like this one, even if I do say so myself. A rough diamond perhaps, but I know the album has a good few afficionados.

Call Down The Moon coming next Ron......

In regal purple, announcing the Call Down The Moon theme.

Then something more in the way of a mud and blood number, TheTwang Dynasty theme.

Three new themes added today:

Friday 13th - similar to the Greasy Truckers theme, but using the Friday 13th cover art as the starting point.
Endangered Species - a variation on the CD cover art, featuring a superb 3d cgi image from Jonah Friedman.
The Ancestral Manboard - based on the graphics and colour schemes used on the old Manboard, especially for the nostalgics.

Then a further three added today:

Undrugged - 'orrible this one, a nasty purple and yellow number.
Diamonds and Coal - Based on the album cover painting
Padget Rooms - In all it's limited edition, pink and blue, palm-treed splendour.
