All this talk of the female gender brings to mind an interview I saw with P J Harvey.
She was born into a hippy family and her parents album collection consisted of the usual fayre - Zappa, Dead, Beefheart etc.
When she was growing up she hated it all and rebeled by buying Duran Duran, Spandau's etc (Bands I actually like thanks to having a younger sister

)
Needless to say said 'rents (see I know all the trendy speak) were horrified. However on or about her 14th birthday she had a sort of Road To Damascus revelation and suddenly realised how great this collection was.
Mind you the first Mrs Willson had the usual collection of dross (actually it was worse - at the age of 20 she was already lost to Barry Manilow and David Soul) when we first moved in together - so imagine my surprise when I found amongst it all a copy of the Fotheringaye album - which she loved and at the time was sadly missing from my Vinyl collection.
