tribute bands do get a bigger audience. the local civic hall has put a shedload of these on recently with the sex pistols band selling over 300 tickets!! the local working men's club has a thin lizzy tribute next saturday and that has almost sold out and has a 250+ capacity in 'the concert room'

Rob W and I met for a chat last night and incidentally got the last two tickets to see The Lancashire Hotpots - a band that make their living singing songs about drinking, Lancashire and drinking.
The last two tickets?        299 and 300!

Hey, Martin, not being a pedantic tw*t, or ok, maybe I am, 3 of them teach music and the other, lead singer bloke called Bernard, works in a car factory in Coventry. Singing is a sideline, which I suppose puts it all into perspective even more :(

And isn't it ironic that they're called the Lancashire Hotpots, but hail from St Helens which I think is now Merseyside!

And thirdly, naaah matey, got it wrong. Chatting with you was incidental. The Pots were the main draw.......

Bet Martin tells me to f*ck off

:)  :)  :)  :)   :)   :)

I thought you'd gone, Gavin?

A pretty half-assed departure, I'd say  :D

Well yes but why go when you're having fun? I thought I'd hang around to witness the end.

If thirteen people at Wrexham is thirteen too many, one Lancy is certainly one too many.

Rob, Do you not realize great swathes of Lancashire and surrounding areas have been incorporated into the Merseyside region including Southport which has a Preston postcode. This had to happen for economic reasons, as less and less people pay their council tax in Liverpool, to balance the books the Merseyside region had to be expanded into areas where people don't have a problem paying for utilities provided. Year on year the problem becomes worse, so look out Bury the scousers are coming.................

Hi John,

Yes I'm aware. And annoyed that Bury will always be Lancashire, but with boundary changes and crap is Greater f*ck*ng Manchester..... Never!!
