Hello everyone, this is the message I hoped I'd never have to write.

It is with great sadness that I bring the news that my wonderful father Micky Jones passed away peacefully today at 12 noon.

I would like to thank you all for your support through the years, letting dad, his talent and music into your lives.

I would also like to thank you all for your support during his illness.

Let us celebrate this wonderful life and the fantastic memories he has brought us, I was so proud of him as a father and as a performer.   To share a stage with him and be part of that legacy is one of the proudest moments.

I will miss him, as im sure we all will  :'(

All the undignified squabbles and debates of this Forum pale into insignificance with the weight of this news. Although we've all had time to adjust to the loss of Micky Jones' talents over the past few years, the loss of a father is the day every son dreads. George, and all your family, my deep and loving sympathy to you. There will be public duties to perform such as your announcement here, but take time for your private self.

I will always remember Micky as a great musician, he has touched all our hearts. Yes, sad news, but let's remember the good times.
And there were plenty of those..

Deepest sympathy to you and your family.

I've lost both of my parents and something I think I can safely say is that you'll never get over it, you'll just come to terms with it.

I've loved your fathers work since seeing Man in the Patti, as a 16 year old,  just before BGTYALOAD came out.  I was astounded by his playing then and remain so to this day.

Sally, Liz, E and I all send our love and deepest sympathy.  The last few years must have been very difficult for you to cope with and you have borne it all in a dignified manner and never failed to champion your dear father with due and proper respect.  It says much of you.

What a good time he gave us all.  That will never be forgotten.  God Bless you Micky Jones. RIP

So sorry to read this.

Putting MJs guitar playing to one side for the moment,  he was a great, great man. It was and will always remain a privilege to have met him.

A day when we all stand shoulder to shoulder with you, united in your (and our) loss. It was a privilege to know your father, and to witness the love and affection he had for you.

This is terrible news, our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

A consolation is that Micky has left a legacy that few guitarists will ever match and for that we should all be eternally grateful...
