Mickey, Deke and the Manband were more than just a band to me, the impact they made on me in the mid-70's shaped my life. I have a steady job, a wife and kids, and normal friends, but even when I'm being normal, there's always just a chance that I'll put my Martin Ace hat on, and do something f***ing daft, or my Deke Leonard hat on, and say something profound (or maybe just twaddle), or best of all, my Mickey Jones hat on, and break out with the riff to 'Spunk Rock' in the middle of one of a song at any random wedding my band might be doing. We even did Romain as an encore one night, and of course the bride and groom were rozzers (although regretably not Belgian). And If there is any point to believing in God, as I do, then it's the hope that the end of life on earth means I can find a Man gig in heaven, and Mickey and his henchmen can REALLY stretch out C'Mon, for a day or so, or even more.
