That will do nicely hope it goes well for Tony.Mixed reports of late.

I received this from Joanna, his representative -

Quote
McPhee & the Groundhogs played on the same bill as Man on many occasions (particularly in the  70's) and we last saw Micky at 100 club, it seems not so long ago. Tony always admired his guitar playing, particularly his fluid style.

Unfortunately Tony had a stroke last year and  this affected his ability to speak quite severely, although he is now making some recovery. He is now gigging although has a deputy singer at present.

Respect due for turning up to pay tribute - in those circumstances, not remotely bothered about how good/bad/indifferent any perfomance might be.   Got to admire the guy for his fighting spirit though!

Lloydie - we must introduce ourselves. We can talk all things Dave Challinor and Colin Woodthorpe.......... or maybe not.

And davey, will you be there? And here's a thought. If so, get on that stage.   :)

that is very kind of you Rob W... i would like to be at both shows...i would really like to come live there for two weeks and hang out and play music and stuff in between.not sure if that is possible though;more like a pipe dream.i'm going to try to make at least one.but if someone would put me up maybe i could do both.well i can dream anyway.my wife actually thinks i should try to go to both for an adventure.money is very tight right now though.i haven't made arrangements yet but i've looked at flight prices...i'll be making some decisions in the next week-peace-Davey

The M/cr posse which at its post 1983 height, reached 8 has booked itself into Glevdon Park Hotel, Oystermouth Rd.

Unfortunately, at present, this amounts the paltry number of 1, and I'm originaly from Salford, currently living in Bury! I hope another Bury resident joins me, and a resident of Southprt too. Although he has experience of a breakfast at Glevdon Park with the chef (sic - very sic) coughing his guts up over our bacon and eggs!

Be careful we stayed there a couple of years ago abd the beds were alive, we had to buy spray before we could sleep, got back to germany and both of us were covered in bites not a pretty site the day before Christmas..........

Can confirm that the Scottish will be three and possibly four strong for the second of the gigs, but will just be the two Herons for the first one.   So there'a another room become available at the Dilwyn although I gathered that there was already someone looking for it so it may well be gone by now.

September seems like ages away but it won't be long before these gigs come rolling round.

I just have to slum it with Elvis Costello this evening to keep me going  :D

Thanks Pete. I did put in my post though that I had stayed there when it was MJ's funeral, and John Bannon met me for breakfast. A bit worrying when the chef...chef??? was coughing his guts up and he appeared with our breakfasts, wearing chef type clobber that hadn't been washed for years, but hey ho, less than 1/2 the price per night of the others, and for two gigs is a big saving. The owner and son are quite batty. A bit like Basil and Sybil. It's what Oystermouth Rd B&B's are all about.
