Maintenance
« on: August 07, 2010, 02:02:51 AM »
The Manband Forum will be undergoing maintenance at intervals over the weekend of 7th and 8th August. If you see the "Maintenance" screen when connecting, please give it an hour or so before trying again.

Of course, if I f*@k it up completely, we're all doomed.

Now, where did I leave that emergency backup button......

Hey Jules,

Will you have to wear a fluorescent yellow jacket?

Come to think of it, maybe you do. Health & Safety matey.

And jeans which show half your backside when you bend down.

Now, if in view, that's not very health & safety.

Could get Sir Heron of Partick salivating again though...............

Thanks though Jules for all this.   :)

Maintenance (or at least the most disruptive elements of it) now complete. The Forum has been upgraded to V2.07 of the SMF engine. Not all the themes have been reloaded yet, but the most popular have.

Feedback welcomed.

Hi Jules

Logging back in still a bit iffy - wouldn't initially accept my details at all, saying the userid didn't exist... requested a new pswd and the response suggested my username was my fullname, accepted my logon using that fullname and let me in, but is now displaying the abbreviated version as username again.

No show stopper, nothing to get too worried about, but a bit strange. You got something against PHPBB or something?   ;)

Hi Tim, glad you got back in.

There's certainly a diffference between members user names (which are used to login with) and display names (which appears on posts).

The BITF theme should be available. You'll just need to reset your profile's "look and layout" properties under "account settings". If you then click the "change" link you should see a list of the themes available to load.

Available (new format) themes:

Be Good To Yourself At Least Once A Day
Back Into The Future
Slow Motion
Maximum Darkness

Others will follow in due course

In "Personal Messaging", "Receive Personal Messages from" was set to "Administrators Only" - I have changed this to "All members".

Has this setting changed since the upgrade?

Jules, any chance of putting the "Show unread posts since last visit" at the bottom of the page as well as the top to save scrolling back every time?

Jules

Is there any chance of having a notification that one has personal messages like there used to be?
Even though it always said "You have 0 new messages".  :'(

Ta.

Not deliberately, but I've just checked my own settings and they were the same; "Admin only". Trawling..........

.........The SMF support boards suggest this is a bug with the migration from earlier versions, which pushes a default value rather than the previously set value during the upgrade. Sorry about that.

I'll open a new topic to alert people.
